One of my work mates has had both the a8 and the s8
Both cracking cars!...plenty power, loads of toys, double glazing so road noise is at a bare minimum ...excellent reliable cruisers that can embarrs many a smaller car if need be!
Because they're alloy , they're light-ish and not as bad on fuel as you might think.....
Only problem he had with his a8 was the fuel pump....they run 2 pumps, one at the top, one at the bottom....his lower pump was fucked so once the car got down to half a tank it would cut out lol...repairing this is apparently quite involved and consiquently quite expensive! Hence he never bothered sorting it lol

Make sure it's a good one and it's a superb car. iirc like most VAG cars the front suspension arms can cause problems and it's vital that OEM parts are used and not pattern items and they need to be fitted correctly to prevent the new items wearing in an accelerated fashion.
Check it, buy it, drive it

I drove my bosses car as a taxi, stunning to drive, comfortable and quick, holds the road well for a big car, front screen was a pain to get signal through for the sat nav, his had LPG injection system and was a pain in the arse, great when it worked but was very problematic.
I wouldn't hesitate to buy one, you won't be disapointed.
Jas
oh and it would do 90 in second
