Default turbo temps

anyone got an idea of the likely temperature of the charged air exiting a t34 running 30psi boost?

600-700 degree's C at a rough guess at its peak but will vary a lot dependant on how hard you drive the thing!

600-700 degree's C at a rough guess


if its that hot would it not melt the turbine housing???

It didn't melt my T4 when i was running anti-lag and seing temps of up to 900 degree's C occasionaly

didnt he mean the tempiture of the boost leaving the turbo ?

yea, what temp you on about?

you mention "charged air" and i take that as air exiting the compressor but before the turbo.

and on a T34 at 30psi+ id guess thats well over 100degC

but exhaust gas temp (ie heat of exhaust gas when its going thru turbine side of turbo) will be 700-1000deg C

yeah, I read it as compressor outlet temperature... in that case expect around 170degC at 30psi (assumption of 70% compressor efficiency)

sorry for the confusion guys - i meant the temp of the air going into the intercooler
