My post maybe sounds worse than it is. It's hard to explain without letting you drive it
Gonna get that checked anyways
Sorry to OP - this is off topic.
Lamb - does it feel like something moves at the back end just before you engage first? That is a classic sign. Also on hard gear changes it will thud at the rear end as you describe.
P.S. That guide makes it sound like a monumental task - it isn't. It's largely the same as removing the diff and rear beam from a Cosworth. You will obviously need a wheel alignment afterwards.

No mate it's not like that at all. I've googled this and I think it's what others call the M clunk. I just mean when you engage 1st at standstill you can feel it. Also the change can feel notchy depending on how quickly you do it and disengage clutch etc. I did not explain myself well at all.
It certainly does not thud on harsh changes, it's had a few of those and all is well
ok 90% of them do it, there's not many low milage ones out there. it only does it when stationary selecting first or reverse. its not gonna damage your car and all owners live with it, i did.
Yes, like I said, I did a lot of research into getting one but was put off by lack of tuning once I got bored with the power unless you want to spend stupid money, plus the insurance quotes were huge compared to other similar cars
I owned mine for 6 months before getting bored, sold it and bought a Tuscan which i've now kept for over a year and could NEVER ever get bored of this car!
