Default gt30 on std engine

how would a std engine get on with a gt30 on it, running a std head bolts and a grp a head gasket?

injectors would be 83lbs, plus usual stuff like cooler, breather etc

as im looking for a turbo as i only want stage 3, but carnt find a t34 unless i get new and for a bit extra i could go gt30

Yes but you can get away with non-pockted pistons and a BD14. Depends on how much skimming your head has had.

But in terms of a GT30 on an engine still using standard head bolts then yes it can be done. I would change the h/g for a metal one though, providing both head and block surfaces are completely flat.

hate t38s mate, too laggy from what ive read, id either go back to a t34.63 housing or go gt30

i wanta go gt30 but then the car is going to be my everyday car until i decide to sell it, so dont want to keep blowing head gaskets lol

the head has just had its first skim aswell, problem is i carnt have the block decked unless i remove everything then id want to rebuild it and tbh i dont want to i just want get the thing in and use the car before i serious lose interest

Im sure you would lose all your interest if you put a gt30 on it and blow the head gasket. Do it properly the first time round and not the second or third time. Highly recommend getting your block decked, don't just put a fancy head gasket on and expect it to last.

i wouldnt, id rather stick with a t34 and a grp a head gasket, there is no way im stripping the bottom end lol

hence asking the question about std bolts and grp a gasket, obviously if the engine lets go on the y34 i may rebuildit or breakit, im only going to use the car for a couple of months anyhow i think, but that may change when i actually finish it and get driving it

Im using standard head bolts, Wire ringed block with a GrpA H/G with my TT T38, hits a good 2.2bar and i don't find it laggy at all.

i use a tt t38 and its not laggy one bit ???

if a engine is built and speced properly and not a bolt this on and use that then it will all work together as it should

i hit 2bar at 3.5k

engine revs like a motor bike

and im using an area 6 full on zetec turbo not yb

You take short cuts with a YB, you'll pay the price. GT30 on a stock engine is just silly IMO, don't do it!

Mine will be running on a T34.63, 200 block, Mahle SCS spec pocketed 7:6:1 pistons, Light Blues. Should be mental enough

You will be surprised what a standard engine can produce.

Why do you need to get the block decked? gt30 should work fine on a standard yb with grpA bolts and gaskit mate as long as it set up for it with the right injectors.
my brother was running a standard yb with grpA gaskits and had a t4 and light blues at 2 bar boost. he used it every day and i didnt think it was laggy. was a nice car to drive
just put one on and try it
