as i dont have any lol , are they just high tensile steel ,

do you mean you have a block, but no main caps?

i hope you didnt pay much for it, as its scrap

the main caps, and cam caps are all line bored, so you need the mains that go with that block if you want it to work!

ie the caps are all fitted, then the bore is cut, then the correct size bearings are fitted and the engine is assembled

The block wouldn't be scrap without the main caps but it would be worth quite a bit less.

 

A 205 block would be scrap without the caps, a 200 wouldnt (costs a couple hundred to sort realistically and a 205 isnt worth that in the first place)

As for the bolts, you certainly dont want to be whacking some 8.8 form B&Q in there

Get some ARP's or similar if you are buying them anyway

 

well, of course you could get some other caps and have it all line bored again, but that would probably work out at more than another block wouldnt it?

anyway, i was tired and misread, beef has the caps lol

 

Depends on if you know someone who can line bore it cheaply
