Really annoying, alloy wheel losing air
As above for months ive been putting air in this one wheel, had to do it once every 2 weeks, now its gone to once every 2-3days so i think i should get it sorted now
The wheels need a refurb really, so i dont want to spend cash on having the one wheel sorted, so for now could i fix it by getting an inner tube fitted? the tyre is a 205/40/17 if it makes any difference.
I heard they can also seal it aswell? would this be just as effective(and maybe even a cheaper fix)

what you need is rim seal . basics its a black silicon sealer for tyres you get your beads poped this gos on bead area then re-enflated JD.
and i dont think you can get a tube fitted not classed as safe as your tyres and rim is not made with tubes in mind .

bead sealer is what your on about as for inner tubes its not the wheel thats a prob its the tyres as tubeless tyres have ribs inside and they rub through the tube

PassionFord Post Whore!!
I had a new tyre fitted last weekend and while i was there somebody came in with the same problem. The guy at the garage got a spray bottle (the pump kind that you can get at garden centres) filled with a soapy water solution and working in sections he sprayed it all over the inflated tyre and then looked for the bubbles. I know this isn't going to fix the problem but hopefully it will locate the dodgy area.
My other half suffers from this problem, when she's sitting in the bath bubbles come up from her arse with a similar smell to stale tyre air.

i would have thought most would mate including the back street ones, my guess is its just a build up of crud on the rim, whenever i fit a tyre i always spend time to wire brush the inner rim as smooth as possible before fitting the tyre as you would be amazed at the amount of old rubber and flaky paint that builds up there then 99% of the time there is no need for sealent. then i would always over inflate, chuck it in the tyre bath, a quick check for bubbles if none job done
i cant see it costing more than a tenner mate, gotta be better than blowing the fucker up all the time
