s2 rs turbo running problems
hi all, my sister has just bought a rs turbo cabriolet,
the engine has some running issues, the car will start when cold and run for about 3 seconds then die,
if you keep doing this then after a while the car starts and revs but will not tick over at all.
then once its been running a while with holding the throttle on and gets up to temperature it cuts out and dosent start again until cold again.
im new to rs turbos and own a rs2000 escort van, i know its a long shot but if anybody has any ideas that would be mint as want to help my sister out.
also does anybody know where the two vacuum pipes on top of the inlet manifold go? i know the left one goes to the breather. and should there be a hose on the fuel regulator as it has a nipple on it.
thanks matt

Sorry, I should have asked. is it EFI or Mechanical fuel injection?
assume mechanical, if so the above applies.
2 hoses if mechanical injection, one goes to the silver ECU bolted to the bulkhead under the wiper mech, the other goes to the breather on the left hand side where it comes off the rocker cover if your facing the engine.
If there is no 12v at that plug, the black fuel ECU is either fucked or it's not getting a 12v supply, so cold start/boost fuel enrichment won't be working.

no the plug is on the throtle switch on the throtle bodie.
the "fuel reg" isn't infact a fuel reg, and no it shouldn't have a hose on it, that will actually make it run leaner despite what some people think that it makes it run richer. so no leave that to atmosphere.
the 12v comes from a relay under the dash on the drivers side, or there is a fuse on the fuse box, I think it's the heated seat fuse of all things. this is just the fuel ecu, the silver one is the ignition ecu. car will still run on when it gets past the cold start switch point but will be lean on full throtle/boost, will be fine on part throtle.
