Would you buy ep after this thread? This is why i only use SCS for my engines.. There warrantied when im all over in australia.. Harvey goes out his way to make sure im happy so im happy to go there again and again.

If I was Danny I'd change my username to Danny the helpful painter!
As for the rest, IMO it sounds like some chav scrotes with rst's who don't understand how much things cost trying to do everything on the cheap and forcing the tuner to do things he wouldn't do on an ideal job
The tuner is guilty of not sussing the customer properly then getting caught out because the cust doesn't have the means to spec the job properly.
I believe this is why places like msd, nms, scc etc are so successful, they know how to 'screen' the customer

my s1 was my summer car only.
i have a dailey new car.
i wanted independant management and poly bushes and brake lines sorted on my car i agreed a price, at no point was there any issue of money or mention that i need to leave money, i ended up with luke selling me cock and bull story when he blew my turbo up trying to extract too much power from it on the dyno, he chucked on a massive cossie turbo which was really laggy on my car and runined the power. I PAID LUKE IN FULL BEFORE TAKING MY CAR AWAY.
ALL THIS STARTED 2 YEARS AGO and is still carrying on now with D4's cars which he has just got back oct 2010 with countless problems and he also PAID IN FULL BEFORE COLLECTING CAR.

There is no excuse for the quality of EP's work no matter who the customer is, I would struggle to do the work as badly as they have I really would! lol

I've got a couple of mates that have had their cars mapped by EP and they weren't perfect. One had to go back as his was a bastard to start from cold which suggests to me that it wasn't a 'proper' map as that would mean that the car would at least have had to be left there for a period of time (a couple of days) to sort out the cold start map.
I'm spending a lot of money (to me anyway) building my saph and I really don't want to waste my time and hard earned money on getting it mapped and then have issues.
I also have made mistakes mate, anyone who says they have never made a mistake is a liar. In my eyes, it's not about making the mistake but it's how the mistake is dealt with which in EP's case, from what I have read anyway, is not too good.![Confused](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_confused.gif)

I cant really get too involved with this thread as I'm a moderator on this site.
All i will say is that I had my car mapped by Luke and he did a fantastic job.
Also Luke was the only trader I knew who offered FREE Rolling Road days and provided free food etc etc and ALL of us who turned up to those days had a great time... so IMO he certainly isnt all about the money.
Although I have not known Luke and Danny very long they have always been very helpful to me and have taken plenty of time to explain things to me which as a non mapping/engine expert I found very useful.
I for one will happily continue using Luke/EP in the future.
What I do find very dissapointing is the amount of people jumping on this thread saying very nasty things about Luke without having the benefit of the full facts of whats happened or at least hearing the other side of the story... I do not know the full facts myself so cannot comment either way.

i find luke very good and didnt push my car to the limits, in fact he set the car up with a little less power due to it not having a 200 block and was honest and said it will be reliable at the power ive got ot which the car gets a hammering and is ok at present.

If Luke specialises in mapping and Danny on the spanners then it can't be hard to sort that out - like many on here have mentioned Danny is genuine and a massive help he goes out of his way to assist PF members but this thread could potentially ruin the business, feel sorry for Danny as he has spent the best part of 18 months promoting EP.

i can only coment on the work that i have had done by luke and danny and as usual i have been more than happy with everything iv had done
i would use danny, luke and ep every time i have used other tuners in the past and have been left with a bad result
i think danny has been slagged off for something that he had nothing to do with and if it was me i would have the balls to talk to him face to face rather than being a key board hero !!!!!!!
there is defo more to this and as we all know 2 sides to every story !

I think you'll find they never got together on this!! I think its something John wanted to do a long time ago, but gave EP the benefit of the doubt that mistakes do happen, and yes he was treated badly, and he wouldn't name the company that fucked his car up, but seeing that D4 and morph have also had very similar issues, i agree that he should of shown people just the kind of work that comes out of there to warn others from losing the money and cars that they have worked so hard for!
I know for one i would appreciate being warned off of a company like that!

That makes no difference here, the car was worked on by EP, it went wrong, they repair it, it went wrong again, you get "Dont worry We will sort it for you" blah blah blah, as said before the gift of the gab in this place was phenomonal(sp) Thats why it went back there, the money had been spent, it wasn't down to john to take it elsewhere and pay yet more money to someone else, it was down to the company that fucked it up to sort it!

If you had payed for a job and it wasn't right and the garage offered to repair at their cost you would take it back, if you hadn't the addition funds to repair elsewhere you would trust the garage and continue to have it repaired until in the end it was obvious it was completely fucked which is what i was the issue in the OP

Because Luke gauranteed me it would be fixed correctly each time!!! I do believe mistakes happen, but in the state (supposed finished car) was a fucking piss take!!! See you all later I have just shown the work that cones out of there! It's upto YOU wether you trust them

Fairplay,but if after every time it was getting re sorted and coming back with another issue not once,not twice but on numerous occasions why not just take the car back..get it looked at elsewhere at the expense of EP rather than go round in the viscious circle?and keep getting the car back in a worse state.

It took luke over 2 months to get 500 quid from you and so he stopped work on your car!
You changed your mind atleast 3 times that i knew of asking luke to get more power from it..
I know in the end he just got jamie to finish some of the work of as he was so fed up with you as a customer and asked you a number of times to take it with said power but you insisted on more each time??
Maybe im wrong on some of this but thats what i got told everytime is ready to be picked up and then wasnt??

ok john came to me with a list of problems from another tuner ...
here is my account of events..
john booked the car in first off and asked me to recover from basingstoke which i did at my costthe work completed was as follows:-
remove sump and inspect to see if pec rods and wossner pistons were there ..
check main and big end bearings
replace sump with new gasket.
fit new gates cam belt kit
fit flamer kit
find blow from turbo . which was one of the core assembally bolts missing and reqired removal ..re fit to replace.
re do fan loom
replace various wires and connectors.
wire in erl 5th injector
replace engine oil
replace gear box oil
rolling road set up
replace all jubalie clips with new
AT NO TIME DID I SAY I WOULD WARRENTY AND ENGINE I DID NOT BUILD I MEARLY REPORTED TO HIS DEMAND.
total including recovery 1200 pounds.
John leaves in car happy then calls to say its running rough and he thought it was the metering unit. i said i have a spare one and he was welcome to come and use my workshop to change and set up .... as he was tight on money.
He came up and did this and at which time i pointed out the tappets were very noisy..He replied that it was a new cam and not wo worry so i only gave him my opinion.
He then left again and called must have been a week later to say it was running on 3 cylinders.
I said get it in and lets look .
We took the rocker cover off and found number 3 inlet follower detroyed and cam had it.. also head badly dammaged
So i reported this and he said he will supply me with said second hand cam and cylinder head so ..
work as follows
Strip head
skim head
re lap valves in
re fit cam
supply and fit new lifters
fit head with new gaskets etc
oil change
check on dyno and road
bill 500 pounds
Car leaves john is happy then phones up going mental as the car is on 3 cylinders again..
I said bring it back which he got it recovered and i paid for at a cost of 380 pounds to which he only payed 200 back.
We inspected the car again to find exactly the same fault with the cam.
I said i would like to stip clean and build the engine as clearly somthing was amiss.
He agreed and i qouted around 1500 pounds.
we stripped the engine and list as follows
fit new piston rings
fit new crank and shell ( his was a mess)
fit new oil pump
new cambelt and gaskets etc
rebuild head again.
fit new cvh34 cam kit
convert to efi and fit gotech ecu
.... 1500 pounds
he then got carried away and wanted a zetec built then changed his mind again and wanted to procced with the cvh.
We carried on with the build but then he started phonning up arguing about the price and what had happend with the cams etc.
buy this time it was in the car running and i could see i was not going to get paid..
after a week of arguing i said fuck it just give me 500 pounds ( cost of ecu) and call it a day.
he agreed and offered 600 pounds which i thought ok and just wanted the thing out my hair tbh.
anyway collection day cam he turnned up with no money and said he had to go and drop his mums car off first in the s1 in york and he would pay on the way home me being me i said yes.
any way a day passed and i called him to see when he would return and he replied" im at heathrow ill be with you soon" anyway he then called back to say the car was fucked and the aa were comming to recover him..
Half hour passed and i called him to see if he was getting it brought to the workshop or his house to which he replied im home ????? BLOODY HELL THAT WAS A QUICK RECOVERY..
any way next day we spoke and he said the engine was "fucked" and did not want to bring the car back and he was not paying
I said ok book it in with another tuner and ill pay for what ever needs sorting.
any way he shoped around and i said no worries let me no when the car is ready and ill call said tuner and pay the bill . BUT HE DID NOT WANT THAT JUST FOR ME TO GIVE HIM 1500 POUNDS..
I SAID BUT YOU HAVE NOT PAID FOR THE JOB.. AND I WAS HAPPY TO PAY ANOTHER TUNER DIRECT TO SORT SAID ISSUE.
A couple of weeks went passed and he phoned up saying he had taken the car to bits and was selling and wanted me to pay him 1600 pounds or he was going to post on here.
I had already seen him selling the stripped engine components which were in good condition and saved the pics.
HE SUGGESTED TO ME THAT I PAY HIM 1600 AND HE WILL GIVE ME MY ECU AND LOOM BACK AND THATS THE LAST ILL HERE FROM HIM AND NOTHING WILL BE PUT ON HERE ( I HAVE THE PM HE SENT STATING THIS)
after thinking about it and the fact the ecu was worth more than the cost price to him i said ok and paid him and low and behold never got the ecu back.
THIS WAS HIS TERMS OF SETTELING THE MATTER NOT MINE AND I FORFILLED.

We took the rocker cover off and found number 3 inlet follower detroyed and cam had it.. also head badly dammaged
So i reported this and he said he will supply me with said second hand cam and cylinder head so ..
work as follows
Strip head
skim head
re lap valves in
re fit cam
supply and fit new lifters
fit head with new gaskets etc
oil change
check on dyno and road
bill 500 pounds
Car leaves john is happy then phones up going mental as the car is on 3 cylinders again..
I said bring it back which he got it recovered and i paid for at a cost of 380 pounds to which he only payed 200 back.
We inspected the car again to find exactly the same fault with the cam.
I said i would like to stip clean and build the engine as clearly somthing was amiss.
He agreed and i qouted around 1500 pounds.
we stripped the engine and list as follows
fit new piston rings
fit new crank and shell ( his was a mess)
fit new oil pump
new cambelt and gaskets etc
rebuild head again.
fit new cvh34 cam kit
convert to efi and fit gotech ecu
.... 1500 pounds
he then got carried away and wanted a zetec built then changed his mind again and wanted to procced with the cvh.
We carried on with the build but then he started phonning up arguing about the price and what had happend with the cams etc.
buy this time it was in the car running and i could see i was not going to get paid..
after a week of arguing i said fuck it just give me 500 pounds ( cost of ecu) and call it a day.
he agreed and offered 600 pounds which i thought ok and just wanted the thing out my hair tbh.
anyway collection day cam he turnned up with no money and said he had to go and drop his mums car off first in the s1 in york and he would pay on the way home me being me i said yes.
any way a day passed and i called him to see when he would return and he replied" im at heathrow ill be with you soon" anyway he then called back to say the car was fucked and the aa were comming to recover him..
Half hour passed and i called him to see if he was getting it brought to the workshop or his house to which he replied im home ????? BLOODY HELL THAT WAS A QUICK RECOVERY..
any way next day we spoke and he said the engine was "fucked" and did not want to bring the car back and he was not paying
I said ok book it in with another tuner and ill pay for what ever needs sorting.
any way he shoped around and i said no worries let me no when the car is ready and ill call said tuner and pay the bill . BUT HE DID NOT WANT THAT JUST FOR ME TO GIVE HIM 1500 POUNDS..
I SAID BUT YOU HAVE NOT PAID FOR THE JOB.. AND I WAS HAPPY TO PAY ANOTHER TUNER DIRECT TO SORT SAID ISSUE.
A couple of weeks went passed and he phoned up saying he had taken the car to bits and was selling and wanted me to pay him 1600 pounds or he was going to post on here.
I had already seen him selling the stripped engine components which were in good condition and saved the pics.
HE SUGGESTED TO ME THAT I PAY HIM 1600 AND HE WILL GIVE ME MY ECU AND LOOM BACK AND THATS THE LAST ILL HERE FROM HIM AND NOTHING WILL BE PUT ON HERE ( I HAVE THE PM HE SENT STATING THIS)
after thinking about it and the fact the ecu was worth more than the cost price to him i said ok and paid him and low and behold never got the ecu back.
THIS WAS HIS TERMS OF SETTELING THE MATTER NOT MINE AND I FORFILLED.

And you wanted to get the car out of there ..
As for proving im not bad you no im not i have said to you every time you called i would get it back together at no cost. and vice would sort the turbo ..
now get off the band waggon call me and you will get it sorted dude.
and you never just came and got your car you arranged to finnaly pick it up !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe I was to quick to jump on the bandwagon.
Was just worried. Luke phoned me this morning to assure me everything was ok and id get my car next week.
To be fair he has done a lot of running around for me and a fair few favours. Cheap labour ECT.
Luke isn't a bad guy.
