Default Update, plus rear diff question!

Ok so far i have:

Fixed the adjustable steering column that moved up and down whilst locked
Pushed the steering column bush back in!
Sorted a minor bit of inside arch rust
Fit longer wheel studs to fronts
Put clear lens on front!
Found no braided hoses on car so very std braking system!
Got ap 4pots and 330mm discs so all hoses will go braided with dot 5 brake fluid.
Got alternator drop bracket! Needed for a T4!
Got rid of fly off type crap handbrake cover std on now!
Got to fit front abs sensors in hope it cures abs fault.
Got new rear no plate surround as this one scratched
Got my usual boost controller to mount incar.
Found out its on a std fuel pump so got 044 noticed she only boosting to 20psi!!!!! Still fucking lairy! So circa 400bhp with 044 in karl said wack boost to 30psi for 450+ if i want 500 i need just bigger injectors and 32psi, head is ported for 500bhp. Think i will stick at the 450!

Now it runs a 4x4 rear diff still is this ok at this power level and is the ratio different?

Im sure the diff ratios are 3.62 and 3.64 so no real difference.

You can fit a 7.5" 2wd diff by taking 1/2" off the diff casing upper mount, to fit into the 4x4 beam. The smaller diff won't live long with the power you are putting through it IMHO, you might be better off replacing it before it breaks, so you should be able to sell it for pretty much what a 2wd diff costs. You will also need the 2wd 108mm shafts as opposed to the 4x4 100mm items. It all drops straight on once you have removed the 1/2" slice off the upper mount .

2wd diff si 3.64:1, 4x4 is 3.62:1, so a very small difference, make virtually no difference.

Easier to simply replace the complete beam for a 2wd item and swap your vented calipers over at the rear

Easiest way is to file down the casing mounts on the 7.5" diff as mentioned so it fits in your cradle and swap the output shafts around from the 7" into the 7.5" diff -that way you dont have to change the existing shafts or wheel bearing flanges.

Its easy to do, just remove the diff case and push off the c clips holding them in place and pop them out and then fit the others, refit the c clips and refit the cover.

I have a mint 27,000 mile from new 7.5" diff here spare that came out of a bog standard show 3dr that was still on standard chip, so never ragged or abused, just nicely run in if interested.

Don't go Dot 5, go for 5.1

Dot 5 will give you a very spongy pedal as it is much more compressible being silicone based

Motul RBF600 or Castrol SRF or similar are much better if you're uprating
