op has an e36, not an e30 like most people seem to be on about,
this has been done many times and is very doable, depends whether you are doing it or paying to do it, worlds apart.
the usual position for the turbo on these cars is ahead of the drivers strut tower towards the back of the headlight, loads of room when you bin the washer bottle
btw you are asking on the totally wrong website
