Default 800hp supras ?

Is it REALLY possible to run 800hp odd on a standard supra engine (obviously with different cams) ?

I know people in the USA who claim to have it but i know several people who have imported a lhd supra from the usa thats 900hp, dynod it and its only 500hp so its hard to tell fact from fiction!?

Not got many years to go untill I can do my supra build, and if I can run big power on standard engine then it saves me £20k!

Aparantly the bottom end of Supras is pretty bullet proof to 600bhp.

600bhp kits are readily available on the net for a few grand.

And I'm sure you probably could run 900bhp on standard internals... its just a question of how long

I know someone with a 800hp Supra and its not a standard engine

Its a bit like saying a Honda S2000 engine will do 700hp, according to You Tube and the american forums this would seem true but for how long is another matter.

Theres a lad on Pistonheads, JamieP with the black Supra, i am pretty sure that was over 600bhp on the standard bottem end. He then took the engine out to rebuild it for more power to find a rod was bent, but he said prior to taking the engine out it ran MINT and he never knew! Lol. Awesome cars....

In that case thats 267 bhp per litre at 800bhp, quite easily achievable, after all its half the engine again compared with the YB.

Any engine where your pushing more than 3 times the factory power your gona have problems.. And with these supras it depends how good the original engine was.. If it was abused with no maintenance i dont think it will last long at 400ho never mind 800

I believe they are pretty bombproof and are capable of runnig that power, for a bit. I would want to upgrade the internals though for reliability. Some people say the are stronger than the RB26.

People in the USA also said there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, but they never materialised. Same with their power claims

These high power 800+ Supra engines are dyno queens.
They have a huge turbo, huge lag, and a very narrow power band - like 1000 rpm.
Impressive on a RR dyno maybe, but wouldnt last long on the street, and terribly slow as well.

The one I posted a picture of is anything but laggy, I think its stroked anyway but its possibly the fastest car I have been in. Mega car, so impressive and so stable even with close to 800hp
