what do you mean you couldn't find a setp-by-step guide? there are these things called Haynes Manuals
good on for having a go being a bird and all that (patronising enough? ), but next time you really should be more clued up on what you're trying to do when working with brakes. the only way to learn sometimes is to have a go, but at least read the waynes manual first to have a slight clue about things like the piston needing to be wound in, where (and more importantly where not) to put copper grease etc, etc.

Fair play for trying Ellie, I try to do as much myself too - it's even more fun when the caliper is actually seized (which common on o/s/r vRS's/VAG) and it WONT wind in for buggary

Nick-21, nah i didnt think they made one, because im sure ive looked before but i did check as i walked past the manuals in halfords.
I looked on scooby-net for 'how to's but all i found was the front end.
Honestly, i googled for ages and could not find a simple how to guide, with pictures because i dont know what all the bits are called!!
When i had my mr2, i managed to get the repair manual on a disc, could do with one for the scoob coz that was brilliant. (no haynes manual for mr2's either!)
Zo- well for all i know the caliper could have been seized. Not very good to be a common prob on a vRS!!! Good on ya for having a go too.
