Defiantly phone them explain the situation, I.E took it for MOT and it failed at X% CO, ask what they set it to/what it should be and if they have any ideas why it would have changed? They set it up and so know the car etc and you as the customer are entitled to advise from them.

Depending on what they say I personally would get the CO to what it should be and go from there but you need to be sure everything is ok.

Doubt the CPS very much do you mean CTS? (Coolant Temperature Sensor)

It's impossible to say, for the CO to have changed by the amount it has with nothing being changed suggests they may be something else wrong, give NMS a call see what they say to be on the safe side.

3.5 will not be safe, cos something is wrong with it. hence why it failed th m.o.t.
if it was ok, it would of sailed through the emissions.

jamie has already said he will charge you £30 to to check your fueling and adjust co.

he maps cars with loads more power than you are running.

and Bateyovhebburn there is people round here who know what there doing!

Scotty just take it to nms, they are professional cosworth tuners, not some random with an afr meter.

And you can listen all you want to the wanabe tuners on here, but to be honest if they were that good there'd have a tuning garage up this neck off woods and be doing good buisness.
Plus ask yourself why people drive all the way to nms or msd if there was somewhere local.

stop stop stop...

ring NMS

do nothing else.

your car clearly had a fault when it went for it's MOT, whether they leave the CO screw where it is or put it back where it was it STILL has that fault!

that fault clearly needs to be rectified, and i doubt the MOT garage would have a clue where to even begin...

ring NMS, take it back there, youll get the problem diagnosed quickly and rectified quickly

dont let an internet forum give you advise on adjusting things, 90% of the advise youve received here is bollocks anyway and is simply poorly repeated information thats been mis-remembered and not based on knowledge of the subject matter!

If brainwashed means advised to go to the PROFESSIONAL tuner who has worked, built and mapped these cars for a long time, at their buisness premises. That mapped this particular car just over a year ago, you've got it spot on.

Thats good you phoned them, have to say I have never heard you need the alternator under load and I don't believe it's true either imo. One thing that is for certain you must NOT have the cooling fans running as this will effect the results especially if you have a cone filter.

I would wait and see with what NMS come back with then go from there, even if it does transpire to be CTS you need to be certain it's ok bearing in mind the CTS has been adjusted already, it is likely to change again with a new CTS.

the alternator thing is valid, as the output from the alternator changes the ECU and injectors operate differently, so if youve got a duff alternator it can affect stuff.
