Default Transit connect St170 conversion

Ok, so I'm thinking about putting an ST170 duratec into a 2003 transit connect. So far I've got the running gear out of a 2004 ST170 inc engine, box, driveshafts, linkage, alt & starter, suspension, brakes, rad etc. Basically all of the front end stuff.

What I didn't get was any of the wiring -I know that was a mistake but I suppose I can get that from another car. My question for those who have done this conversion already is what do I need in terms of the wiring - do I need the whole wiring loom from the car or just the ecu, engine loom, transponder key etc. Also, is there anything else I need - for example, the clocks, fuel tank & pump & wiring.

Just want to make sure I have everything necessary before pulling a perfectly good connect apart as I need to have it back up and running quickly.

Any help on this appreciated.

cheers

Neil

Im sure you will need the speedo clocks ecu keys. Tbh i think if you do the conversion you might be disappointed cause the tranny connect is a heavy van. You might be disappointed at the performance. Just put te running gear into a mk 3 4 escort.

to make things easier if you do it, get a petrol transit connect not a diesel one, the petrol ones will be listed as lpg, and that means basicly free travel in to london, no C charge, if you live any where near london that is, or need to ever go in, unless the lpg rule has changed

Yeah, I know it isn't going to be that quick. I just want a blend of reasonable performance and reliability. the van suits my lifestyle at the moment so I will be using it everyday.

The ST170 only has a fuel feed to the fuel rail with no return back to the tank and the ecu runs the fuel pump so you need the fuel pump, fuel lines, interior wiring loom and exhaust. Basically everything. Change the clutch and flywheel before you fit the engine it otherwise you will regret not doing it and uprate the fuel pump the standard one is no good
