Right I've seen a few zetec cars like Focus and Escorts running Ninja Carbs from bikes, and i hear you get great results...can someone please tell me like the risks from doing it, and how the hell its done as i cant find no forums or nothing talking about it.
Just want to know what needs modifing to make it fit or other things that need doing to the engine aswell.
If someone can help would be MUCH loved
Thanks

you need a manifold made, carbs, bike fuel pump (not positive) and upgraded ignition I think it is, best bet is to phone up bogg bros, 01944 738234, they deal with kits for zetecs etc, good upgrade tbh alot of people are going this route, I was in process of r1 carbs on my zetec but decided to sell car so that was end of learning curve so sorry for lack of details but its a start lol
Ive done it a few time now.
All you reaaly need is carbs, manfifold, bike pump or pressure reducer and an ignition system such as megajolt or any of the well known brands as it only controls spark
Problems to over come would be emmissions for mot and the pats on an escort or focus
Heres mine in a mk3 fiesta zx9r carbs, alloy inlet, megajolt and R1 carbs
Goes well and sounds amazing

Thanks people starting to make sense, i seen a lot of talk about carbs AND throttle bodies, i thought they was roughly the same thing? From what i read it was a as simple as removing the standard intake manifold and bolting on the carbs, obviously not i guess lol.
So wheres the ebst place to get all these bits from and is it a job i could do myself?
Ive seen few good sets of bike carbs on eBay but i didnt realise id need other things lke fuel pump and that too, how much would i be looking to get this done then, second hand parts if i can.
Also how would you rate these compared to camming it? Camming seems simpler but needs a remap to make it run right ive been told?
Thanks again

cam it and bike carb it
I had cams in my mk3 fezza it went extremely well so bike carbs were my next upgrade but as said never got round to it, I bought a full kit off ebay for 200 and was going to buy management for 200 so that all it would have cost it is a DIY if you fancy it aint hard just take time and learn what you have to do, think the hardest part would be wiring in management but it comes with instructions anyway or if stuck am sure few of the lads on here would happily give you some help. if you cant find a set up for sale usually some on ebay, if you buy carbs straight off bike im sure they have to be rejetted? Someone clear this up? Just contact bogg bros or stated above (chester sports cars) or any company you can find nearby that deals in this thing they can give you a run threw on how much it would cost you

Am using R1 carbs on a 2.0 Pinto and the main jets need to be bored out to 1.7mm, not sure about any of the smaller bike carbs ie ZX6 or similar but would imagine it would be the same with them.
Call Bogg Brothers and they will tell you for sure, I bought one of their alloy manifolds and its a very nice looking bit of kit !

Also if i was to just change the throttle body, would that be anywhere as good as doing carbs?
Ta
anyone know if these bike throttle bodies are any good, they are off a Kawasaki ZX6R
which runs EFI, they are made by KEIHIN and have 38mm chokes and been fitted with
1.8 zetec injectors and the correct plug for the zetec loom. ive been told its basically
plug and play with the correct manifold but im not to sure.

Sourced most the parts now but would adjustable boost controller valve (fuel pressure regulator) do the job of changing the pressure instead of using a bike pump?
Thanks
Thanks
