Default Bore scopes, any experiance?

I am looking to buy a decent bore scope, and wondering which is the best one? who has used them and what was it like?

I will be using it for engine inspection through spark plug holes.

Simon.

My mate uses a Snap On one, he runs a powerful drag car and has had a lot of issues with EGT's so likes to keep an eye on the internals.

I've never seen one before so was quite suprised how good it was ! no idea if there is better on the market.

IIRC its about £400

Look on amazon, theres some cheap ones on there that look worth a punt for 20 quid. They have lights and you can buy mirrors for them in various angles. Plug in to your laptop through USB.

P.s I have seen the Snap-on one working and it is very good, very clear picture etc..

Ring have just brought one out too. Had one in the office the other day and seems like a half decent bit of kit. Never used one so won't comment on what they're like to use, but the recording facility seems like a good idea to me, so you can show customers of any defects and prove you're not trying to rip them off.

I saw one being demod in Maplin a month or so ago, was on special offer for £40, looked about a 6-8mm head, with in built screen was very clear, I was very surprised for the money, but skint at the time otherwise would have got one.
