We made sure we did the 2 mins silence in work, took the phones off the hook, and turned the controller radio off, as it has been known for people to ring for cabs and drivers to call on the radio during the silence

Surely any war can be seen as a waste of time and life?? The people who have died in the last ten years are protecting us from terrorists!! Maybe people living during WW1 and WW2 thought 'ongoing wars are pointless' but its been proven they werent pointelss!!! Heindsight is a wonderful thing, not saying i agree with the ongoin war etc, but i bet people back then disagreed with the war, like you do now, but its proven that it was needed to stop these fuckers!!

I was in Homebase today and they done the 2 minutes silents and there were 2 young twats shaking a tin of areosol paint, i could have shoved it up their arse.

What about the british troops who killed british troops by firing squad in WW1 and 2, poor "deserters" were suffering shell shock, should the "killers" be shot ?
Anyone remember our QUEEN is GERMAN, and we are of germanic descent.
I think EVERYONE of every religion should be forced to respect others religion in things like the 2 mins silence.
As for "foreigners" the british in WW2 were outnumbered in some units by indians, polish, etc etc, Churchill though did treat them like absolute shit, esp the british indian army, fact we would have been in the shit without help, we're a tiny spec of land with a tiny army, the best in my opinion but still tiny, a lot of the people who "should go home" were born here from descendants who put their arse on the line.
During WW2 german luftwaffe were buried in this country with a swastika on the coffins and full military honours attended by the RAF.
No one wins in war, everyone loses, but some make it necessary.

What royally fucks me off about this is the utter disrespect they're showing to all their fellow country men, and all the Irish nationals that fought and died in all these wars to protect their way of life.

And that's without even mentioning how they conveniently forget the fact the these so-called freedom fighters from Ireland also killed civilians for their cause. But why let that get in the way?

Remembrance, in my eyes, commemorates all who have lost their lives in war, civilian or soldier, whatever their nautionality. I think about three of us fell silent in uni today in the room I was in, everyone else carried on regardless, including the British students, which is just terrible in my eyes. Although remembrance is technically on Sunday really, I don't think two minutes silence to remember armistace day is too much to ask.
