No seeming about it

Main bearing journal end float 0.09-0.26mm
Connecting rod bearing journal Ř 46.89-46.91mm

Dimensions
Connecting rod
Bore Ř, big end 49.89-49.91mm
Bore Ř, small end 19.951-19.981mm
Inner Ř, connecting rod bearing shells (fitted) 46.926-46.960mm
Connecting rod bearing clearance (radial) 0.016-0.070mm
Connecting rod bearing clearance (axial) 0.090-0.320mm

Dimensions
Piston pin
Piston pin length 55.80-56.20mm
Piston pin Ř, white 19.997-20.000mm
Piston pin Ř, red 20.625-20.628mm

sorry about digging an ancient topic. But as my doubt is directly linked to the subject, I think it's valid.
I have a 1.8l escort zetec 16v. I bored the cilinders to fit the 2.0 pistons, used the american conrods and pistons. The head, is from the focus, with solid valve lifters.
Thing is, the american pistons have holes for the valves, and the 19mm pistons have a swimming pool on the top. Are the compression ratios the same for both?
My intention is to run on ethanol, so the higher the compression, the better.

you should probably start with the 2.0 block if you're looking for lots of power as taking almost 5mm out of a 1.8 zetec bore will seriously weaken it. if you want high compression then you'll need pistons with some sort of dome like JE 218797 (https://www.jepistons.com/Products/298717.aspx) compression ratio with these should be somewhere around 11:1

Its already built.
The initial idea was to use the mondeo 2.0 block. But someone offered me a 1.8 bored for a very good price. And as a couple of guys here are using the 1.8 block bored to 2.0 for over a decade, ah, what the heck... Just did the same.
It's built as I said in the previous post, and I'm using a obx stage 2 pair of camshafts.

Is it possible to estimate the compression ratio I'm running?
i just tuned the fuel (ethanol) in about 0,88 lambda all over the rpm range in with, and it runs smooth.

About the engine, are the compression ratio of the British and American Zetec ABOUT the same? 'cause it really doesn't seem the case when looking on the Piston heads. There wouldn't be needed the valve beds on the American Piston.

one other thing, how much can I take out of the Zetec Black top cylinder head in order to increase the compression ratio?
