It is the cheapest way of spinning both wheels for straight line traction and drifting, better than a ford lsd that will only transmit some power to the opposite wheel and cheaper than a plated or gripper diff. The downside is that when parking, turning tight corners slowly, the back wheels will skip about a bit. It can also be a bit livley when on a wet road, but then so can a gripper. You will have to take your diff out the casing to weld up the planet gears with a decent mig welder.

i ve welded god knows how many sierra diffs for stock cars, driftin etc and i ve never had to remove it from the casing! just drop the diff down by removing the diff mount, take the back plate off, clean out as much of the oil as possible, takes about 1 hour start to finish.
i would nt recommend it for a road car tho

if it was for a road car i would remove it to stop splatter and slag from getting into the diff and causing premature wear of the gears and bearings. Maybe ok for occasional use in a stock car, but for a road car i would be a bit cleaner about the job.

Bang on!

I've had a few cars with welded diffs on the road and they really are fine IMO. You only notice it at very low speed tight turns.

My daily driver has a welded diff, only skips bait when parking. So much more controllable sideways compared to an open diff.
