Looking for a second car help
hey,
looking for a second car i currently have a 1.25 16v fiesta and im looking at spending up to £2k.
I had a look at frst but decent ones seem few and far between at that price and insurance was way too much.
So i looked at mk5 z-s's and it looks like you can get a semi decent one at that price, and not much more to insure.
i was wondering what you guys input was on these and what you thought or if there was anything else i should consider, coming up for 18 and 1yncb and pass plus and in band A insurance area, no points claims.

i can see my mates faces as i pull up to school in this now.. (im almost 18 not almost 38) and it will get fucked at work as it will fill the carpark space and all the clumsey fucks will smash there doors into it, the fez only takes up a tiny paty of the bay and still gets fucked resulting in hours of polishing and buffing :-(

I had an early zetec s brand spanking new and loved it,awesome handling and zippy motor, brilliant cars,I'd have another tommorow.
Watch for rust, arches, sills, general places as well and of course accident damage as they've been a bit of a boy racer special in recent years,I wouldn't let it stop me buying one if the price was good.
Tdi golfs are great cars, lower arms and gearboxes are their Achilles heel, but they are a bigger car although superb on fuel. There's a polo tdi if you prefer the small car feel and the seat ibiza shares the same running gear as the golf.
My only advice is to avoid French at all costs, unless you enjoy changing coilpacks and random breakdowns!!

ZS is a great little car, plenty to choose from on www.zsoc.com
Phase two had
a slightly revised engine - notciable by the black plastic rocker cover.
Darker trim
smaller centre caps on the alloys
boot release button inside (by the gear stick)
revised front grill - plastic rather than metal iirc
They can suffer with the engines - bottom ends going pop when not serviced reguarly and the can rust - arches, around rubber seals, sills.
In general though a GREAT throaty little nippy car with good handling, still look good and pretty damn reliable.
Get one with as little rust as possible and a GOOD service history and your onto a winner.
£2k is all you need to spend to get a nice 51 plater with reasonable miles and good history.

And if i was you i would`nt be spending 2k on a car if its going to be parked round clumsy fucks imo.
Have you had any insurance quote`s yet to find out what you can/cant insure??...has at your age it might be hard to insure a nice car.

I've got a zetec s at the moment. All in it owes me a grand. Its got a puma lump, 300 mm front breaks all Polly bushed. It screams I rev it of the clock every day. It runs 15 sec dead quarter miles. Preference it to my rs turbo lol. Most fun I've had for a grand

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
yeah he is going to replace the 1.25 fiesta
well thats what i thought anyway lol
the zetec s would be ideal especially if he like the fiesta he has all ready, cracking cars would have one myself if i did not need a big boot for the dogs
