Question going fishing today at brighton sea - can you keep the fish?

as tite going for a bit of sea fishing today at brighton marina, can you keep the fish so we can cook them at home? or do you have to throw them back?

YES u can keep them.
U have to gut them before you come back into/near the marina(out at sea) or u can do it at home(not pleasant!). This is because otherwise scavingers all gather up at the shore as thats where all the guts end up.

If you do catch anything, make sure to stick two fingers up in the general direction of a Spanish trawler

you can keep owt you catch as long as its not undersizwd really. Thats good sportsmanship. If its tiny send it back. Dont even need a licence to fish the sea either.

This is a good question as i know of a few places where you can ONLY fish after the break water and not in the Marina.

I heard Brighton is fishing shite... but to be honest everywhere seems to be fishing poo this year in comparisson. There has been several adverse tides this month so that may part of the reason.

I went out on Lady of the Lake in July and had a good time. Had a nice conger about 40lb, bream, bass and loads of Mackeral to the point where they were a nuisance.

You might be better off fishing Samphire hoe near to Dover at the mo.
