Default few Qs for mechanics about engine install

Car in question is a mondeo st220 04 engine blew, so new 1 going in Like 2 thank -Beefy-for sorting that 1 out 4 me cheers pal anyway.. FIRST Q wot are the things that i should advise my mechanic, no dout he knows wot he doing but it will rest my mind a bit if i sort of know the process,he,ll most probally tell me where 2 go but just in case , O,K does the ecu need remaping or anything need recodeing after he,s taken old one out will it need any new gaskets (so i can get ready) any problems to look out for when fitting new 1 any input would be great thanks

my m8 darren he,s just done all the welding of new panels on my fezzy turbo,if u look at my (little project thread )u can see a picture of him doing a bit of welding, done a quality job so i thought i,d let him av a go, said he well confident he can do it he used to work at custom classics over by jewsons

yer i think he,ll do good job could,ent fault him on my fezzy i also had the option to take it to a guy who works in the old hinds garage on dock view road he said he could do it but quoted 400 quid not a lot i know but still 400quid

Nothing, the only time you would have a problem is if you were changing ECU etc.

i personally would put a new timing chain and waterpump on the engine before fitting it as they are a lot more difficult to do when its in plus they are both known to fail prematurely on these engines also
