They dont hold dirt very well. there was 6! of them at stanford hall on sunday and they all looked shit becuase the weather was crappy. i can imagin in 40-50 years down the line if you have one with the original wraping on it might be worth some money

The vinyl only lasts so many years before it will need redoing as the uv rays from the sun will fade it i would have thought and it will eventually go brittle and start to left on the edges in time.

Could not agree more - this car is one nightmare to own - my brother has a Mk 2 RS Focus and had it professionally detailed by heavenly detail and the guy who detailed his did an RS500 at a dealer prior to delivery to a customer and apparently it was an absolute nightmare.
Normal polishes etc do not work and it requires specialist products to give it even a half decent finish and as it stands these products dont even exist only a range of opaque products that will help the life if the film.
Check out this video tho - http://www.youtube.com/user/Heavenly.../2/Uekm4tpqb9o
Very very good job considering the nightmare that is a "wrap"
The main problem with the wrap are stone chips, scratches etc etc - you get a scratch or stone chip and it time for a new wrap - expensive way to maintain the finish for sure.
What i would love to see is someone remove the wrap and have the gloss panther black finish that is underneath but hey that would take something for someone to choose to remove the wrap from a £40k car !!!

used as a commodity for people with plenty just to make a bit extra and nothing to do with car enthusiasts
This happened when the Focus rs mk 1 was announced with poeple selling £500 deposits for over 1K to jump the que and once they were released they immediately went up in value due to supply and demand and it was not unusual to see them changing hands for upto 25k when the list price was a fiver under 20k

they come with a strip of film so that you can touch in any stone chips. theres one in edinburgh fords showroom just now its been there for a month. the guy that has bought it wont take it till its fixed, it has a blemish somewhere and a small dent on passangers door. the guy is from aberdeen and apperntly he is a rs collector. car looks stunning tho
