Truly feel for you mate , but things do get better , ihad to have my 16 year old westie put down 2 years ago and I was in bits for days , but the pain fades , just think of all those good times you had together .

Feel for you mate.

I went through the same thing myself, cancer too. The vet actually came to us and I said my goodbyes to my dog, the look in her eyes I'll never forget, she knew and just rested her head on my leg and looked so sad. Really cut me up.

Gutted for you mate. It's really not nice.

I had to have my dog put down last april. He was 13 and had cancer. I was devastated because i'd had him since i was 10. Still makes me sad even now.

Sorry To hear of your loss mate, I know this is easy to say but take comfort in the fact she is no longer suffering, we had to have our 7 year old bulldog put to sleep cause he had cancer.

many,many thanks for the thoughts guys and maria we are having her ashes on the balcony of our new house where she spent her last days :-( gutted people i am really heartbroken as is the wife and little lad,cameron 9 years old i really hope only time will heal
we are strong minded that we did the right thing she was in awfull pain when we took her ........

Sorry to hear about this. The wife n i had a house rabbit which was really really soft. I think he thought he was a dog. He used to follow my around the house all the time. He used to jump on the bed on a nite for cuddles. He died over 2 years ago now. He was only 2 years old.

Hope you are bearing up ok mate. Really feel for you having to make such a tough decision but as everyone else has already said, you made the right choice for the benefit of little Gucci. She looked such a lovely little girl in your pictures. As i type this my dog Dempsey is laying fast asleep on the sofa and i can't bear to think about the day when i could be in your position. All the best at this upsetting time.

Maria - that poem you posted was really nice, gives you hope that when your time comes you might be reunited with your beloved pets.
