Right oh,in 1997 I broke an S1 rst,it was a totally straight car but back in those days nobody changed logbooks over etc so I bought it off my mate who SUPPLIED ME WITH AN OLD STYLE V5.
I never put it in my name, nor was it ever in his and although I threw the logbook out a few years ago(I know)
a quick check on the DVLA website shows no activity on this car since `97,but not that it`s been scrapped etc.
The plate is of no value but obviously series one I.D might be handy in the future as theres a lovely replica for sale on here now for a good price and it can help with insurance etc.
My question is,do I apply for it and see what happens or are the DVLA likely to ask to inspect the vehicle before issuing a logbook due to the time its been off the road?
I gave the VIN plate to a mate who was I.J`ing his car back in the day but the nob crashed it a few months later and was only TPFT (remember those days??)but as he was driving a bit silly, the feds took the car and crushed it!!!Imagine that now??some lucky copper!!
Obviously it`s not life or death but you just never know in this day and age how things can come in handy,I`m sure ive seen peeps on here getting VIN plates made up and I had this done myself from some company called tags`r`us back in the 90`s,dodgy cunts too, never even asked for a logbook!!!!I`m not harming anybody as the car was scrapped (unnofficially) 13 years ago!!!
Any feedback welcome,cheeRS guys,Vaughan.

Well that didn't go like he hoped LOL.
Yes you are - one day someone will end up buying what they thought was a genuine S1, but isn't.
I`m not harming anybody
