Default wheel offset info needed peoples !!!

i know fuck all bout offsets ect , so putting it to the folks who do



good mates bidding on a set of 16's for his 3 door ,

16 in -7.5j et 20

so my question is , how will he get on with et 20 offset will he need spacers ?



and before you say , " just get diffrent offset alloys lol " tried that , there like rocking horse poo and hes adamant

I reckon they should be alright.

Spacers won't help as they are already further out than standard

right , i see cheers craig , whats the stock offset ?


theres the option of maching some of the back out i guess ,


imo there a fucking bargain , ive told him to get them bought before someone beats him to it lol

about 35mm is ideal, don't know if thats what standard 3dr wheels are though.

35-42 is more for fwd 15-20 is more for rear wheel drive as fitted on 3 door escorts cosworths

99.9% sure the std 2wd cossie offset is 36mm.

on 3 door sierra its same as fwd 35-42 its just esc cos thay are diff

std is 35 et iirc and et 20 will give him loads of trouble mate..
Might be ok on the back but the fronts will be grief!!!

the lower the number the more they will stick out from the face where they bolt on.

so in therory they will offer more clearance than a stock offset for the caliper , and in essence we can machine the mount face down slightly to pull the wheel in ,

he could be on to a winner here as he could differ the offsets for the front to the rear doing away with that horrible look some 3drs have where the wrong offset rears have the wheels tucked in the arches

Yeah spot on mate they will fill the rears really well 235 40s too and on the front like 205 45s and 10 mm taken of the back will work as long as the casting has enough room for the brakes etc??but yeah its working in theory and your understandiny the et..

yeah , can check the casting when they arrive mate ,

as for brakes hes on aftermarket calipers , so im sure the bells and brackets can be redone if only option as hes adamant these wheels are going on the three door lol

i have new bells and brackets from Reyland to fit AP calipers, these were made to throw the disc and caliper as far in as possible on 2wd cars.

up for sale if he needs any.
