ok i have bought a escort mk3 with missing vin plate and no nombers under carpet
car has been fully restored new floor pans slam panel wings respray real mint car
can i get new vin plate?
do i need floor restamped? were do i stand?

you can get new vins, but you need all your paperwork including full verfication that the car your trying to get a vin for is what its meant to be and not a stolen or ringed one ,

Not being funny but i would of thought about these things before spending all that time and money on having it restored.

Have you got the log book with it and all relevant documents? If so i'd at very least be privately trying to find out how to restamp the floor etc and getting a replacement vin plate before announcing on a public forum of whats happening with the car.

i no the guy who restored the car straight as can be not dodgy at all turns out when he changed slam panel and pans left tag and stamp on old and never put tag back on slam panel car has passed mot since but there is a small tag on slam panel with one long nomber on it
could that be right as it does not look like original vin set out at all
