Black And Silver Number Plates (Opinions)
This morning parking up for work, I parked as usual walking to work and a bike copper on the side of the road shouted is that your cosworth?
Went over to him and he ask were is it registered. Home address etc etc I said.
He said he thought it was a British Forces Germany plate?
Anyway he started being IMO patronising and was pointing me to cars saying it should be balr blar blar etc etc Yellow background and black lettering.
Andwith that told me to put if I have them normal ones.
Why can the British German Forces regitered cars have them but not us, hows that work?
I know that most of the British German Forces number plate are only 4 numbers but shorley a normal Uk number plate in black and silver style cant hurt?
What other peoples opinions on this? Seem very silly to me
I'll be putting it on for shows still though lol.

Should be changed the law on that. What is the differnce in a 1993 car using one to a pre 1973 car using one. Still looks the same and the correct font and letter spacing.

silver and black plates just look wrong though on most cars, even ones old enough to wear them legally,
normal modern plates look the best imo
, or pressed metal ones on older cars

Obviously it's been brought into the MOT now too.

doesn't it have something to do with the reflective properties of modern plates too? makes them alot easier to read at night, so the plod can knock on your door if you've been naughty?? could be wrong but thats my thoughts, dont have many thoughts, so i wanted to share this rare moment,

The copper was a bit out of date, BFG, ie British Forces Germany have normal uk plates and have done for years, stand out as a target otherwise, though they were 2 letter 3 numbers then the letter B, white on black background pressed /stamped metal when they did have them.
I'm sure they went out over 10 years ago, mate returned in 99, and had been there on his std uk reg plates.

sadly the law has decreed x y and z with plates and its nothing to do with making them look good, its about identification and thats it.
because its like the anal concours people who have to have every original sticker etc in the standard class. plus some people think standard is the "new" in thing and hence original plates, remade rear window stickers etc.

I love the look but our PSNI in Belfast have the same attitude to friggin everything law abiding now! It amazing how efficent they are now we've stopped shooting at them pmsl!

Am i right in saying that we can only have the england flag on our plates too? We cant have a plate with RS on the side? Also does it have to say where the plate was made at the bottom?
