I dont know how long the extra 6mph takes, though I can tell you that you can deduct 3.5 for the 0-30mph. Either way - a damn quick road car when you think it comes with a 2 year warranty etc etc.!

LOL

Truely EPIC fail there mate.

Unless its slower 0-30 than my clio is

9.8 0-124 is probably going to translate into a low 8 second 30-130 though, so still fast

Oops - yes you are quite right! that was its 0-60 - sorry - I am a dullard!!!

No idea what the 0-30 would be!!! I wonder if it would balance the missing 6mph on the top end.

It would more than balance it, it would be about 0.5 seconds in gear acceleration from 124-130, so even if a change was required it would still be under a second.
So about 10.5 seconds 0-130, and 0-30 would probably be 2 or so.

if porsches were any good people would be stripping them and selling all the good stuff like ,coilpacks ,konis, leather , etc

you got to respect the porsche owners that still hang around a old ford site lol ,most of them brought up on cossies moved on to better things ,but still a soft spot for the blue oval.

give me a white rs500 anyday ,you just dont see them in tescos

And what engine would you use after your experiences with the YB put you off it being one of them?

LS2 would be a good choice.

Id very much like a rwd escort cossie with LS power.

LS sounds like a good plan - they are a nice unit! I always liked the idea of another fella on this forum to stick one of those into a TVR!

Nice big supercharger too to make sure it go good!

I would entirely agree. Given the choice of an Escort Cosworth or 911 turbo, Id take the Escort.

Sure the 911 would most probably outperform the Escort, but I'd buy the Escort for its character and soul, which appeal to me more than the 911's.

Nothing special. I used to have an Escort and then an Orion some years back. Thats the extent of my ford ownership.

Well I see there's a little bit of an argument on here whether a porsche is better or a cossie, I could solve this for you all, if someone wants to give me their 400bhp cossie and a 911 turbo so I could carry out some investigations to see what is a better car I would be happy to post my findings on here

Slightly related, was leaving Bradford yesterday and an off-white lady was in a black 911 turbo with aftermarkt exhaust. Shed caught me looking when we were at the lights so she gave it the beans. Fuck me, what a noise, like an eruption of power not an engine building revs. Went under bridge and the echo was immense. Got to silly speeds in no time. Awesome cars.

3k!!!!!?!?!?!?! Jesus! I was quoted Ł2,000 for the suspension for the porker and I winced!

Cool - now you mention it, I do recall you saying you would be in a Leon superlegera - sorry - memory like a fish.

Look forward to seeing you on and by the track . I am happy to give you a passenger lap in my old Porker to see if I can convert you!

Surely the Mk1 Golf Gti is the weapon of choice vs a Porsche Turbo?

On the whole, pretty good, though it was too busy as usual!

Thu was wet, but we hung around and got a few wet laps in (always exciting!!!)

Fri was dry for most of the day until the last couple of hours.
Sat was dry, but a circus.

Many many many many bikers ditching in the barriers at a variety of places. I would have to say I saw no evidence of fluids on the floor at any of the points of accidents either, nor was there evidence of clear up of fluids after each track closure caused by our over-enthusiastic biker friends.

Cars had the last laugh though . The "Rent-a-racer" mother loving bastard shit fuckers (as I now refer to them!) managed to close the race track only twenty minutes after the long closure, and most irritatingly about an hour before the close of play for the day, thus ensuring that the track did not re-open!

I have to say, the more often I go, the more times these "rent-a-racers" appear to be involved in accidents. The problem is that they do not have nearly enough to lose in my opinion, combined with the fact that they think that a bit of a roll cage and a helmet makes them a driving god.

They should be banned period. If you dont take your own car or bike - dont go!

In fact, so irratable am I about the concept of rent-a-racer, I might even start a separate thread to gauge opinion!

All above imho of course!

I rent cars at the Ring and I go I would say.... 10 times as much as you do?

I hardly see any incidences. Really cant recall EVER seeing a track closure due to one.

Certainly NOTHING like you are going on about.

I think the people that rent the racecars are the sensible ones actually....

Bikers are the problem in my opinion.

I've had a "play" with 997 turbo a few months back on a straight line and he destroyed me even with a ski-box on his roof

Quick Reply: Cossie vs 911 turbo (lesson learnt lol!)
