i personally wouldnt be proud about it jon ross
basically you have just come on this thread with massive ford blinkers.
comparing a porsche to a cossie is just silly anyway you try and spin it.
for a start people who are now buying 911 turbos on this forum understand how further advanced they are compared to an old sierra with a twincam in it.
I would suggest you try another forum to spout your rubbish as you are doign yourself no favours.
and 222mph....very extreme power, 1200bhp i heard going around, rod do you know of any chasssis developments on it?

The wish list kinda stays the same - Trip to DMS for zorst and remap at some point, followed by X73 Suspension (Porsche mildly upgraded). Then continue to bash away at these pesky GT3s!!! (They really are rather irritatingly good around the track!)
We should catch up for beer at some point...

Jon ross im with you mate lol!!!!
Heres goes mine, 350bhp 390 lb/s 2wd saph.
against 911 turbo could have been 997 (473 bhp) cos just said turbo on back it was black to. 60mph to 130mph. In the porker there was 2, in mine i was alone.
He pulled 1 car length by the time i hit 130mph.
These porkers are 1600kg so 400kg more than the saph.
Porker with extra guy in, 1700kg. 294 bhp per tonne.
Saph 1240kg. 282 bhp per tonne.
I no wat everyone says bout power to weight an all that, and i no the porker is way better than any ford but, isent it mad how he only pulled 1 car length an wen u work it out, power to weight, there nowt in it.
Time 4 bed night all.

ooohhh touchy!!! im not a prick im a cunt that loves winding you rich boys up!!! cossies are still alot more fun and alot cheaper and easyer to work on. i was working on a 911 once and found you gotta drop the engine to get to the last 2 spark plugs!!! (good design that one) even porsche said you gotta drop it
You really are barking up the wrong tree trying to talk to him about cossies, he has been there and got the t-shirt well and truely, hell he even nearly lost his life in another thats probably in most of our top ten cars ever as well, martins

nice try, cossy dale yes, 911T (or probably 997T) definantely is out of your league, but I think you didn't feel any shame losing to it.
old family sedan vs new proper sports car with engine at the back
2.0 turbocharged vs water-cooled 3.6 twin-turbocharged
But put loads of cash into 2.0L cosworth and the porsche driver will be very embarrassed

august 1974. 260hp 253lbsft 0-60 in just over 5 secs and near 160mph 4 speed box not bad in 1974 i think
love these cars.the 911 turbo has evolved in to a true super car now days imo.
the new ones are real beasts but expensive to run. i still want a 1989 g50 930 turbo tbh, wanted one since i was a kid

listen to the rich boy eh, i think hes abit sore that were saying modded cossies can beat them, there only so much you can do to an engine and you can get as much power and touque out of a yb than you can out of a shite flat 6 esecailly if you spent 108k on one, as for speed anyone can bolt on a 7 speed box and bye bye small willy super car shit box, ha zee germans have failed again!
you have to spend far too much to get near a good porsche and then the cossie has reliability issues and the porker dont!
the flat 6 is an awesome engine and has proved this by hardly changing since its birth.the whole package has hardly changed as it works!
take the blinkers off and have a look outside your little (rot)box.
i love cossies,i love porsches and tbh all fast cars because i appriciate what they are and why. there are far worse cars and far better cars than cossies, the same goes for porsches. its where it is in its particular placement

Not standard ones there are not!
You are talking modified ones....
Modify the 911 and then start talking about FAST cars....
as you WELL know... the 9FF 996 Turbo CABRIOFUCKINGLET that did 222mph at Brunters.....
thats just STUPID fast. One of the only cars out there that makes yours look silly and no NOS needed on the Porsche either!

Calm down Lee , the question was had any Cossies the grunt to beat that standard car. It was not talking about modified Porsches or standard Cossies. Of course a Porsche with the same Power will beat a brick Sierra its called aerodynamics.
The ffs Porsches hold the 3 fastest times over 1.5miles in the UK they are fast beyond belief. Maybe by years end you will have a Cossie 5th on that list if we can beat 213.8mph .

i would imagine that gap would be alot bigger if you both went from a standing start the other difference is the 911 will carry on past 180 without breaking sweat while the cossie will realistically be topped at a true 160-165mph(not needle speed)

Don't be thinking a 911 turbo is a rich mans plaything anymore, most people running a serious spec on thier cossie ( trust me I know!) will have spent as much to get to that spec as a standard 996/911 costs now!! Also remember that a 911 turbo is 420bhp STANDARD!!! a simple chip/remap will give 500bhp, and do it for the next 100,000 miles.
I own 2x big spec cossies, and I have a strange feeling like quite a few ex cossie owners, a 911 turbo will be my next car. AND, I was a dedicated Porsche hater, until I had a play in one! Epic cars, and nothing in the price bracket that even comes close to one now.
Although if I could I would keep both cossies & have a 911 turbo!

I know what you mean Will.
for the amount I sunk into my mk2 (that I never even heard running,. let alone drove!) before I sold it, I could have had one too. Just seems like such an obvious choice!

Just had a chuckle at that . The ffs Porsche's are certainly over 1000bhp & probably capable of 1200bhp from a perfectly streetable engine. I have more Power than almost any street Cosworth & i can muster a mere 838bhp, even if i throw in a 200 shot of Nos i still cant beat them .

I don;t have a problem with speeding (anywhere under the right circumstances).
I just found it strange that Chip posted that statement, after posting on the other thread. He comes across as a lot of things to a lot of people but he usually sticks to one side of the fence.
I just thought it highly unusual to post the way he did on the other thread, then come here and basically say its ok to speed as long as its not a 40mph limit

Generally yes, but not always. And from the other thread, people shouldn't ever speed.

I view the sort of racing that goes on at street racing venues (like the ones ive personally participated in, I am NOT an angel) is different to two people just happening across each other and giving it a brief go on an empty road which is how this thread comes across.
So its not that im on 2 sides of a fence, but merely that I see the two as different fences.

You can as they say 'race' only if one car is a lot slower than thy other so a winner is quickly found. Imagine two 800bhp cars racing on the road they would be a real problem very quickly with 180 comming up in a few seconds, always make me laugh these posts. If you want to compare cars go to an airfield & strap timing gear on them.

Agreed. Only problem is racing in a 60-70mph limit tends to be higher speeds than in a 40mph limit.
I wasnt actually arguing what you said. Just seemed a very strange post from you.

you have 2wd,lighter and the bhp per tonne is similar and you expect it to do what from 60-130? it pulled a car length already considering you were both rolling
