Default BMW 530diesel what are they like?? EDIT, Got 1(16/10 little update)

On the look out for a new run about while the cossy is off the road, got up to about £4k so thinking of a BMW 530d on about a 01 plate or a st220 on a 03 plate

Is there anything to look out for etc

Cheers
Matt

Roosies got nearly 230K on his 330D, only real probs they have I know of is the cam and crank sensors can play up, but cheap enough to fix, roosies gets around 48mpg.

Lot of car for the money and will do hundreds of thousand miles hassle free no doubt.

Really fancy one myself for a big comfy cruiser much much cheaper than a 330 and far better than a tdci which will give injector issues aswell as every other issue lol

I valeted a his n hers 530ds 2 years ago now, both still own them as they love them and they could easily afford a brand spanker but just keep running them

1 had 170 odd k on the clock and teh other over 200k and i drove both, fucking stunning condition and drive, tigh box and ultra quiet on cold start up and drove so smooth you forget its a diesel

The ac was a little rough to say the least it drove well enough but there was rust on the rear arches, boot lid, front edge of the bonnet and both n/s doors would have still had it but he wouldn't take an offer on it

this one only has 100k with full history 2 owners I'm the 3rd its got a small (less than the size of a 5p) scab on the bottom edge of the boot and a fewstone chips

Sorry to Hi-jack the thread but seeing as it is about BMW diesels. One for sale near me. 330d 51 plate. 118,000 miles. Full BMW main dealer history. £3600. Is that a reasonable price to be paying? Presumably the mileage isn't an issue as its a BMW lol? Only downside is its green. I like that silver one above. Very nice

Absolutely loved my E39 530d Sport when I had it - Superb car - Did well over 30k in her and she never missed a beat

Was absolutely superb cruising on the autobahn at 130 with the cruise control on and aircon on low when going to the 'Ring in her

A few snaps of her not long after I fitted a set of 18" Paras
