Turbo+Powerband Survey
How about this for a interesting thread for everyone...
How about everyone with a turbo mota do this quick survey.
VERY brief details of car- (ie Cossie, RST etc, what capacity, what turbo)
What RPM you see positive boost pressure.
What RPM and boost pressure the car starts to get intersting (ie starts to really pull hard)
What RPM and pressure full boost is.
What RPM the power FEELS like its starting to tail off (maybe way past peak, but when it REALLY feels like no point revving it further).
I wish i could remember mine All i remember was even tho it was a T34 it still felt totally strong till past 7000rpm, no noticable tailoff even tho im sure peak was at 6500 max. Cant remember for the life of me what revs the fun began.
Did a similar thread on the GTR forum n it was interesting, a lot more people and specs here so should be even better.

What RPM the power FEELS like its starting to tail off (maybe way past peak, but when it REALLY feels like no point revving it further): Feels like it starts to tail off at 5500, but this is only due to the mid-range over-boost that has been mapped in. It was originally mapped at 27psi (flat boost curve), but in the car was given a mid-range spike of 32psi, which is there from 3500 to 5500, where it gradually tails of to 27psi by 6500, which it holds to the limiter, making peak power at 7000. This makes for a lovely car for overtaking things .

RST, full bling spec., all steel, NMS head, ceramic valves etc but with STD turbo....
Positive pressure at about 1500rpm, full boost at 2100 when it pulls hard. Runs out of fuel at the current 6k rev limit, so im hitting that all the time lol.
I have std turbo for running it in, and i havent decided what to fit yet. When i went to Stu for an initial setup, we were pretty suprised. It made boost 500rpm lower than a std car, and power was still climbing at 6k. Had to set the omex limiter to 6k, as after it was getting lean... Massive powerband, soooo easy to drive.

Heres a few other interesting ones from the GTR board--
Standard R32GTRs with Stg1 conversions--
Boost from just under 2000rpm
Major action from 2800rpm (0.5bar)

Ecos - T34 , light blues comes on boost @ 3000 makes 415 ft-lb torque @ 3500rpm pulls like a jet fighter AB mapped it 4 years ago and its still goin strong

Think my old RST (1.6 cvh) was running stage 3 head and a stage 2 hybrid, and that was nothing below 3k than hold-on-tight as the whole lot came in at once
Used to tail off at about 5.5k I think, as it was getting weaker nearer the limiter
Ran about 1bar I think??

S13 200SX - 1800cc running a GT28R
starts building boost at about 2500 rpm
pulls really hard by 3000 rpm
full boost by 3500 rpm (18psi)
drops off a psi or 2 at about 6800 rpm (limiter is 7200 rpm)

Cab with RST engine. 1640cc 7.6:1 comp ratio 'stage 3' head 'stage 3' T3 285t cam vernier pulley GRS I/C etc
+ve boost at arround 3250 Rpm
interesting 'pull' at 3750 Rpm plus
full boost (12Psi ATM) is pulled and held to standard rev limit.
Power doesnt 'feel' like it tails off... it would probably happily rev its conkers off at about 8k i expect once the boost is upped it will be a little different though and the power will 'feel' like its tailing off as the turbo runs out of puff.
