Default xr3 turbo carbed! does any one no any thing about them?

i have a carbed xr3 turbo and i'm in two frame's of mind what to do with it.
i did think at first it was just a after market conversion but it has ford
motorsport written on the air box and rs written on the cap which sit's
on the carb!
Also the turbo only has an oil feed and no water cooler fitting's.
is this car something special i've had it five year's and havent seen another at any show's
The car need's a fair amount of work so was not sure wether or not to take every thing of or to restore it!!! what do you think?

Could it be a Turbo Technics conversion?? Are there any clues on the Turbo itself?

the turbotechnics conversions dont have any RS logos on them.

it does sound to me like a very early development of the RS Turbo stuff like matty said.

get some pics up and i'm sure that will give more clues i've got the istallation guides for the TT Carbed CVHs at home somewhere, catch me on MSN if you want a copy (galballyj@hotmail.com) i found it on a website called retrofiesta or retrocars or something like that (not 100% sure)

Sounds like the XR3 Turbo Kit you could buy in the early 80's to run in the championship with. Have seen a couple around but not many, deffo is this if it has RS on the bit on top of the carb. Worth getting in good nick. Is well documented in Graham Robsons RS books IIRC.

Steve, Dan's is a turbo technics conversion though??

a mate of mine has one of the turbo kits on his mk1 rs2000, so its now a turbo'd 2 litre pinto, that carb top has an RS emblem on it too. i was told they were an added axtra, out of the RS accesories catalogue
