it sounds like he is saying your dump valve is leaking, therefore giving you a boost leak, which in turn is giving you less power meaning you are pressing the throttle harder in order to go at the same speed. a re-circ dump valve will make no differance, you just need one that doesnt leak, or dont run one

why pretend you knew what he was saying? you should have just asked him to explain it to you better its not like he is going to take the piss out of you for not knowing, the whole point of getting your car tested is to recieve sound advice about anything that needs doing!

Yes i believe so, thought faulty standard dump valves, or aftermarket ones could cause no end of running issues!

where do you get your information from?
petrol consumption with or without a dump valve ,if you think there is a difference your wrong-can i assume you havnt got an escort cosworth reading your opinions.

that sounds along the line as what he was telling me but prior to it dumping, its leaking/partially open and hence is putting more fuel into it than it requires,as it was spluttering as he held the revs around 2k if that makes anymore sense.it was ava in glasgow incidently.valve now removed and no woosh or chatter so will see if the fuels any better on the run tomorrow.cheers for your posts
