Road legal quads... can you drive these on a car licence, insurance costs etc.
I'm thinking abu getting one of these quads, seem to be quite cheap now 2nd hand.
Whats the legalities with a licence, can you drive them on a car licence after 2001 and up to what size.
What would the insurance be like for one?
Can you take a passenger?
Has anybody found them to be too slow in a particular cc and would have prefered something bigger than say a 250cc?
Cheers lads

yes mate they can be driven with a car licence with any size engine.
if your going to buy 1 dont waste your money on 1 of these shitty imports,
they are seriously slow and poorly built, personally id go for either a
honda trx450
yamaha raptor 660 or 700
yamaha yfm 450
yamaha banshee 350
suzuki ltz400
kawasaki kxf400
they cost a little more but are worlds apart from the rest of the cheap crap.

PassionFord Post Whore!!
Never been a fan of quads, either on or off road, but saw a pair of these in Florida and thought "Oh, YESSSS!!"
According to The Times, they can be driven on a car licence, and no need for a helmet.

I think id rather chew my own face off than own one of them, bet they cost a fortune too!
Wouldnt mind a raptor though, they look mental fun! As said though they are lethal, but not as bad as a shit import quad, my mate had a fixed axle thing not so long back and it is ridiculous how they are road legal! Proper piece of shit! Id deffo want something with some sort of diff rather than a fixed axle job!!
This would do a treat..........

Given you are driving under a car license, if you want to ride one without a helmet. A seatbelt must be worn.
In short...a helmet must be worn. Although if it was under a motorbike license, seemingly no helmet is required.
