Everyone is saying over 9? you have to go to court....

I got done on the M4 doing 99.37 average (i will never forget that number!)
Was WAY to fooking close to an instant ban for my liking
All I got was 3 points and 150 quid fine, and i didnt even attend court
(But it was in 1991!)

Don't try and blame this on me lol i told you how many times sitting at 110mph was risky and then when the police started to follow you you was still sat at 90mph

From all the posts, what is puzzling is the difference in fine / points/ ban..... for the same kinda speed....

Does it mean that there is no real "rules" and it is left to the judgement of the police / court.... whoever?

Don't sound good having to attend court a few years back now I got my first and only 3 points Was in my max power fiat punto (first car) Did 97.99mph on 70mph dual carriage way.

Pleaded guilty and said did not want to attend court (to be made a fool of and possibly get more points) so took it like a man, got 3 points and £60 fine I wrote a groveling letter saying how sorry I was never do it again etc etc.. lucky really

Good luck with this Marco, but I have a feeling you're gonna have to bend over and take a shafting M8 of mine got clocked doing an "average" of 92 in an XR2 a few years back, got a two week ban and paid court costs, no points or fine, judging by the posts, it's hard to say what you'll get really

the fine is based on income

if ya rich ya get a higher fine as a 100 quid fine to Tiff for example he could reach into his coin tray and take that out and still have change BUT 100 quid to a guy on sick pay earning 60 quid ssp a week is a fooking lot of money that will take a good few weeks to pay back

also if ya get less points then will ad more onnthe fine to help to remind ya its a serious thing there doing

A housemate of one of my mates about 5 years back was clocked 3 times between 90 - 100 in his Calibra. He was requested to attend court each time and got 3 points and a fine, not sure how much though. He was told over 100 and he was looking at a ban of some sort.

He was then caught a 4th time (did he ever learn! ), again between 90-100mph. Went to court and was handed a ban as he now had 12 points. The line the judge (or similar) used, I still remember. "Daniel ....... you are a menace to society" Nevermind the rapists and murderers, this guy was caught 4 times between 90-100 on motorways and was labelled that!

Based on that info, I personally dont think you have too much to worry about btu that was 99/00.

Good Luck
