Might be trying to scare you with court appearance.Depending on road conditions and volume of traffic.I reckon a slapped wrist.
Is this you on the dreadful day.
Could of been worse though.

LOL @ 3drstretch that pic
well to be honest it was a sunday morning not many on the motorway it's just that i was talking to Gav and not really paying much attion to the speedo as you do ,
then i saw the fooker but it was to late to slow down
the speedo was showing 110mph just shows how un-accruate the speedos are LOL

I got pulled doing an average of 96mph on the M4 a couple of years ago - received 3 points & a Ł60 fine. The police were actually quite reasonable - they told me that my driving style for the speed I was doing was spot on & they couldnt fault it - just that I was going a little bit too fast - also told me that if I'd have only been doing 90mph they would have let me off with a slapped wrist!!!
TBH mate - it all depends on how the police/courts feel on the day I reckon - although I thought that only over 100mph was a ban!!

yeah if ya gotta attend court then they are most definetly looking at banning you
its a coont when ya gotta travel the distance to court too , when i went it was ajurned 3 fooking times , 3 weeks of court dates
in fooking durham, over 300 miles from me house
the one in sheffield charged me 30 quid for not turning up though
but thats when there thinking of banning ya when ya may be banned

very rare to get a ban if you where doing less than 30 mph over the posted limit unless you where driving silly but then it wouldnt just be a speeding offence.

Prob want to offer you a driving course Take it and show the instructor how its REALLY done
Maybe they want to speak to you to see how the hell you got 110 out of a loaded up diesel 98 will be a speed they have rounded it down to as the other way its more paperwork.
But whatever, it will be a minimum of an SP50 for 4 years and a shafting to the wallet

Anything over 96mph and they get you to attend court
Marco ask your boss to write a letter saying if your banned you will instantly loss your job as your main job description involves driving from site to site
My boss did it for me and they let me off without any points at all
Although I wasnt speeding

Marco,
Go with letter in tow from your boss and also eat humble pie . Do NOT say you weren't looking what you were doing, or they may do you for driving without due care as well .
Plead guilty, with the following explantation (mitigating circumstances): Explain that it was early in the morning and due to the lack of traffic (and therefore no cars to gain a reference from) on the clear and open motorway, your speed momentarily crept up to this on a down-hill stretch of the motorway. You only realised that your speed had crept up when you saw the police car and checked your speedo, by which time it was too late. Elaborate further that the car is a company car and that you need your licence for work and that you are the sole bread-winner in the house-hold and that if you lose your job, you lose your house and the fact that you have X kids to feed etc.
And wear a fucking suit and look apologetic .

my mate got clocked doing over 100 on M25 and he went to court in my suit (cheapskate) and said he was going to pick up his mrs from dover...BULLSHIT.....he's self employed and needs to drive to pick up spares etc.....KINDA BULLSHIT....and just kept saying how sorry he was......BULLSHIT.
he got Ł60 fine and 6 week ban no points
but then again my mate got run over and killed by a driver racing who mounted the kerb and got 2000 hrs community service and no ban
the law i think makes itself up sometimes

marco- they have seen footage of you in your cossy on our dvd and want to tie it up with some recent footage from their speed cameras to make sure its the same guy!
seriously tho its a slight risk of a ban hence personal appearance reqd, so dress smart, say the right things and you should be ok, but 4-5points and a fine worse off when you leave. hope it goes well mate!

A friend of mine had to appear in court in Fort William and got banned. He wasn't allowed to drive home, but had to wait for two employees to go up and get him and his car.
