Afternoon was wondering if anyone on here knows where the rs1700t which was being built in south africa back in 2008 is now, i know thers a thread on here about it and its supposed to be in the north uk somewhere....ive already emailed redracer from the last thread i think it was and he pointed me to the mk1 mk2 escort rally forum but i thought id try here first...im looking for the new owner as i just brought this

Right just found the poster of the newest pics of it in its new home by the look of it on s1rsturbo site and pmed him thing is he aint been on there since feb this year So ive gotta sit tight and wait

was rs1700T just going to be rwd rs turbo with a stroked engine?

Spotted, floor was removed for prep. of the rear transaxle that former owner designed then ford scrapped the 1700t for rs200 so work stopped..He got the shell from boreham because ford wanted other teams to see what they would come up with..and so its sat there for 25years+ (forgot to mention former owner was a rally driver back in the day)

No it wasnt ,RS1700T had a BDA type engine which then went into RS200 as Ford got stuck with them when 1700T cancelled also RST didnt exist when 1700T was about as they were registered on a W 1981

hi i know where it is and yes its in the north east but he doesnt want anyone to know where it is .
it did come over here in boxs the shell is almost complete now just the running gear to put in .
hes has a massive collection of fords so it will be immaculate

how well do you know him?

could you ask him if he would be willing to let anyone take a mould form the tailgate with spoiler?

they cannot be brought from anyone and there is quite a few people i know after them

from what i can make out everyone who advertised that they sold them got them from fibre sports in basildon essex

they had a massive fire (last year i think) and have lost all the moulds

i had one on order for a chap in germany, it was in the mould when the place went up in flames

i know him very well .i do work for him he has his own garage and all his cars are kept there il call round to see him tomoz and ask the question.
but cant promise out mate . i have this pic

Right got a response from msport... no joy on owner or any info on tag plates but theyve kindly fowarded me details onto ford,, and the shell is home safe and well after 370mile round trip with the tranny n trailer,,now i got 2 to derust, best pull me finger out the first ones been waiting for 12years
