Ipad sold out everywhere and doing well.

OSX getting recognised more and more as the better operating system.

Macs at the height of fashion and style. (at the very least) As i don't want yet another mac vs pc argument.

because people are not fucking stupid. theyve deliberately made the iphone less compatable than similar smart phones purely so they can cash in. thats a step backwards for consumers albeit a step forward for capitalist greed fed by morons who want an iphone yet will likely not be mentally capable of using more than 10% of its capability

in tech terms the iphones bluetooth compatability is behind that of phones now 7/8 years old! the camera is worse than on cheap paygo phones and what i would expect on a phone 5 years old!!

not to forget battery life issues etc.

bluetooth issues are just pure greed. Why would i want to buy a phone that cant take photos of any quality and then cant even send the photos to my laptop?? Also i cant send photos to a mates phone, (something i do regularly at present).

All a step backwards so they can be a bit more greedy?? pathetic really. And to think apple used to be the product for genuine enthusiasts as they were well designed good quality products with none of the bullshit of other manufacturers. Now they are getting just as bad as microsoft.

sure id like an iphone if it had decent camera, battery life and blue tooth compatability.

They are running a company. If they would have brought out the best from the start yes it would have been better for consumer but it just does not happen.

I however do not have an Iphone, although i would if my company didn't supply me with a Microsoft powered xda2 piece of shit.

that crashes 10 times a day has terrible battery life, poor interface and dodgy screen.

its not about them bringing out better specs as things develop. its about them deliberately reducing the spec to make more profit. not the same thing at all. Im sure apple could solve the bluetooth issue overnight but it wont.

If they were genuinely worried just about security then im sure its not too hard for them to engineer ishop downloads to be serial numbered internally to work with the specific handset only.

 

Sweet i will be getting one, as changing jobs in August so will lose my works phone. Looking forward to finally getting one, and not robbing the missus to play angry birds. lol

Vista is renowned industry wide as a poor performing operating system.

Not following crowd and was never running it on a poor pc, it was a memory sapping update ridden piece of shit.

Thats why windows 7 was so much better received.

 

Warren - What's this major 'Bluetooth' issue. I've not had a single occasion when I couldn't send something. I've got MMS, Email, and numerous Apps to send stuff. My Bluetooth pairs instantly with the hands free on my headunit, but what else could it do that is should?

Yes you can. Email for starters. Or sync with iPhoto. Or in Windows it shows up as a camera device when connected and opens a window with all the photo's on it automatically. And you don't need iTunes for any of the above...


Loads of apps - "Bump" is one. But in this day and age, why bother? MMS, email, FTP, etc etc...

Personally, I don't miss Bluetooth pic/file sharing at all. I think maybe twice in the last two years I could have used it over the options iPhone has. So for me, it's no big deal.

At the end of the day, this is Apple all over. I don't know why people bitch about it these days - Apple have been doing it for years, with the iPods, iBooks, iMacs etc. They ALWAYS hold back on things so when they implement them in "new" versions every year, people buy the new version. It's brilliant marketing, and it works - everytime.

They are a company - a company that wants to make money. They don't owe anyone anything, so why should they give everything they have at once. It's very simple - people want what you're selling; you sell stuff. People don't want what you're selling; you don't sell stuff.

Why do people get os hung up on megapixels for camera performance?

You can buy some piece of crap camera on bay with 12mp for about Ł15 but a good quality 3mp camera would blow it away.

The new iPhone records video in HD and has a 5 mp camera, unless you want to blow pictures up to poster size I'm sure it'll be a decent camera. I'd bet a pound to a pinch of shit it'll be better than other 5mp camera phones out there but people will always just look at the headline numbers!

 

Exactly. Once you go over 3mp, the pixel count has little bearing on quality.
