This does not in any way detract from the crap service I had from ford uk and heartlands, telling me complete SHIT in needed 6000 miles. and for this reason this will be her last ford. what if it came back low MMMMMMM
Agree that shit service shouldn't be tolerated. But it's not at all unreasonable to state that a car needs a good few miles under it's belt to reach it's best.

I am confident that Northampton's rollers are fair and consistent, and judging by the original operators attitude - asking Mountune to show him their map! - he doesn't sound very professional. Surely any tuner knows a) that another tuner would not freely supply their map, and b) how to suck off the file and check for himself!!!!

You say making the power is not a big secret that Ford don't know. Wondering what the best bhp/litre engine in N/A form is from a standard Ford? Not the ST170 is it?
Correct. Any more useful tips to give us? Water is wet as well if you didn't know. Now go bug someone who cares about your drivel.

Ps. Ford were clever enough to realise that a turbocharger makes an engine cleaner, more efficient and more driveable and less stressed than a high revver. How good is the current ctr vs an st focus, oh yes shit, even got tree trunk rear beam not independant rear suspension like a mk3 escort. So advanced no power, no torque and dull as shit. Like you

170bhp from a 2.0 isn't exactly good when compared to other manufacturers engines. I also read they don't tend to make those numbers anyway.

Good to see your comparing a 2.0 n/a to a 2.5 turbo, seems pretty fair.

Comparing equivalent models , not my fault ford were more clever to realise that the revvy four pot with no power band wasn't for them.

Why compare equivalent models in a topic about engines and power outputs?

Just to highlight how far behind the game n/a engines are in hot hatches. You keep on slagging stuff you clearly don't understand mate. Makes you look like an idiot to those that do . Out of interest what does a caterham r500 have under the bonnet? Is it a high tech lightweight all alloy ford engine? Or is it something else???

Thing is, the new 2.0 Honda Civic type-r is as near as makes no difference to the 2.5 Focus ST performance wise, less than half a second to 60mph. Doesn't look like Honda are that far behind the game, considering they have given the ST an extra cylinder, half a litre and a turbo as a head start. If anything, looks like Ford need to over-spec to keep on level terms. I do like the ST though.

Caterham use Ford engines as they are cheap and common, not because they are the last word in technologically and sophistication like you think.
