Slipknot Fans :( (Press Conference Video Added)
I know there are some on here.
Paul Gray (bassist) passed away at the age of 38 yesterday and it doesn't seem as if they are going to replace either
Everyone is dying so young these days.
Another sad day for Metal Fans.

can't see the band replacing him with someone else to be honest. As talented as they are i think they will just call it a day and work on side projects unless fans really get behind them and urge them on but even then i can't see it happening.
couldn't get into slipknot really other then their self titled album. It all seemed to go to mainstream after that but the latest material they had was promising.

tis really gutting news! i am one for originality but they should find a new bassest! Saw them play last year and though it had been about 5-6 years since i saw them last they are still one of the best live bands ever! Totally gutted!

really sad about this
seen them at download a few years ago and it was brutal. Such a tight band.
Hope they continue but it would be hard to replace him

Very sad someone so young has died, and very sad that he leaves behind a wife and unborn child.
Onto him - not "dissing" the man, but he was, not only in my opinion, a fairly run of the mill "metal" bass player. I mean he was no Cliff Burton! To be fair, you stick any other metal bass player in one of his masks and the band could go on like nothing happened...

Oh no of course not. But I was referring to the band calling it a day. Hundreds of bands have lost members through tragedy - Metallica lost Cliff Burton and he was one of the main song writing forces in that band, and the glue that held Hetfield and Ulrich together! Look at Skynyrd - there's virtually none of them left! AC/DC lost Bon Scott, Ozzy lost Randy Rhodes (Sabbath lost Ozzy FFS, although he didn't die of course).
Many of the "founder members" of Slipknot have already been replaced, so my point is if the band choose to call it a day, I don't think it's because they can't replace him as a bassist. It'll be because it was going to happen anyway, and this was a "good" time to do it

DES MOINES, Iowa — Police say an autopsy failed to determine how Slipknot bassist Paul Gray died. They say it will be weeks before toxicology results are available that could determine the cause of death.
The 38-year-old Gray, a Johnston, Iowa, resident and a founding member of the metal band, was found dead Monday in a suburban Des Moines hotel.
Urbandale police released a statement Tuesday saying the autopsy was completed but the death remained under investigation. Polk County Medical Examiner Gregory Schmunk says it could be four to six weeks before toxicology results are available.
Police say the autopsy did confirm there was no evidence of foul play or trauma, and that Gray had been dead for several hours when a hotel worker found his body.

Its a real shame for the band and Slipknot fans around the world. I'm well into 'Knot myself and being a metaller that I am, i'm shocked by this. I'm sure they will recruit another Bass player, as Metallica did when Cliff burton died in the 80's. They went on to bigger and better things.
