ford fiesta zetec or style?
I am turning 17 and i am deciding which car to get? I can get either a ford fiesta zetec 1.2 or 1.4 (but 1.4 at a slight extra cost) or the ford style 1.25. All of them 3 door and 2006. I am not sure which would be best for me. I would like it to look quite sporty also and of course to be quick. And i dont want it to look like an older persons car. So which would you recomend for my age?

well according to parkers the 1.4 in about 1 sec quicker to 60. theres bugger all in it power wise so it must be the torque therefore making the 1.4 a little (all be it marginal) better drive and little better at coping with hills so i'd get the 1.4
at your age everything is going to be a rip off so i'd get some quotes on both of them and if the 1.4 is only slightly more expensive to insure and any other extra costs dont rule it out then i'd go 1.4.
upto you at the end of the day as you dont want to get something you cant run but hope i've helped ya.

i'm getting off them a website called www.youngmarmalade.co.uk basically you pay in monthly installments for the car and insurance is only around £40 a month so that isn't an issue. And i guess the car must have a good service history but i'm sure they'll tell me when i come to ordering the car.

bet they sting you like fuck on the interest. would be vey carefull doing this and check the interest rate. you could easily end up paying twice what the car is worth.

Engine wise there both the same power that being 75HP, the Style is the entry level while the Zetec is Fords "Sports" range and for that you get sports suspension in the case of Focus not sure about Fiesta along with extra creature comforts.

At your age I would definately get the 1.25 and I also wouldn't be tempted to modify it as that will only hump your premium (which no doubt is already £2k) through the roof.

NOOOO dont go with stupid shit finance deals!
my brother got a car with his gf of the time on a 5 year finance deal and because of their ages (18) only 1 company would give them finance and they only had 1 car in their price range and it was a dog and 2.5 times the price (over the 5 year period) of the actual vehicles value!!!
fucking rip off but the idiots bought it anyway and then not long after they broke up and he got lumped with paying his half of and giving her the car!
for the love of god dont get a car on finance at your age, you WILL regret it!
save up or borrow some cash off your parents and buy something you can actually afford!

Insurance isn't that bad for young drivers if you look properly. I'm 20 and never had any problems with insurance, had a 280hp 850R @ 19 fully comp £970 and currently have a Caged VTS tpft for £800 all mods declared etc. Get cheap tidy car for a couple of years then if you really want a car on tick you'll be able to get one that will be worthwhile keeping for a 3-4years like a polo gti, fiesta st etc, because you'll be able to afford the insurance. You'll be bored shitless in a 1.2 fiesta and will be kicking yourself knowing you've got to keep it for how ever long.
