Default Getting a lease car re-mapped

Hi all,

Im thinking about getting my comany car re-mapped but not sure if i could get into serious trouble if anything went wrong. I may be allowed to do it but if i ask and they say no then its game over so i was just thinking of getting it done. Can the dealers see the map at services etc and does anyone know if it voids the warrenty?

Cheers Loz

Is it worth the risk?

Surely, doing that could run the risk of losing your job etc?

IMO ya probs best, asking if they say no..then they say no, but if they say yeah then all good!

id imagine they'd say no. Especially if the cars got company insurance, im sure they wont cover any modifications

If you remap the car using a handheld device like blue fin or dreamscience you can stick the standard map back on when ever you like, takes 15 mins. When it has a service etc just whack the standard map back on.

Still modifying them without notifying. You have to let them know everything such as fitting tow bars etc.

If the insurance is part of the deal that will be void also without declaring it...

the thing is, the company i work for has about 30,000 company cars on the policy and the lease company is seperate to that, so because its such a massive scale we are insured on any vehicle. but that probably makes no difference

At the end of the day you a modifying the car... The fact your Co leases many cars and insures them elsewhere is has no relevance...

Just stating the facts...

A few years back I had my Co leased car remapped. I didnt tell the lease or the insurance company. The car was subject to some major warranty claims also... I got away with it.

95% chance you'll get away with it no bother. But is the dry fucking up the arse really worth it if it gets noticed?

Bluefin at the most. Its untraceable if you load the standard map back in for any trips to the dealer

Volvo dealers offer a re-map as an option, so would unlikely notice as they see many that have been re-mapped.
