yep, just been outside and checked. oil pressure light is at the top of the dash along with the battery light. the low oil level light which is the one with the wavy line under it is in the row of lights along the bottom of the dash. hope he didn't give it any hammer from cold, you need to wait till the oil and water temp are well up before giving it any. takes about 15 minutes of driving to get properly warm.

These are serious bargains IF you can afford to run one. Much more than just petrol, it was £30k+? new and still costs the same to run as a brand new m3.

People dont realise this, they buy one for £3k and wonder why its going to cost them £2.5k in parts to fix

Wrong!, go back and do your homework before giving the lad shit advice. the old straight 6 e36 engine is as expensive as the new V8 ? the old 5-6 speed manual boxes in them are as expensive to fix as the SMG Paddle shift Auto boxes in the new E90 ones? Realy.....

Vanos issues are another one of those things that gathers credibilty due to word of mouth and the internet imo ive known a few people with M3's that have never had a single issue with this! As far as i know as long as the car has been maintained properly vanos isnt an issue!

same buddy, i had two, one of them had 165k on it and no probs whatsoever!! As soon as there is a couple of people that have had the problem and it cost a wee bit word of mouth blows it out of proportion, me and the bigyin were talking about this exact same thing a few days ago!
