Default Triumph TR6 - what to do??

Last week i bought a 1971 Triumph TR6. Its red, 2.5 150bhp injection, overdrive in 2nd, 3rd and 4th. Apparently its 'the one to have' but i know nothing about them.

I only bought it to sell it- as i already had a buyer after one.

I paid £8000 for it, and have been offered £9000 for it- but i really dont know what to do. I cant decide if i should sell my m3 evo track car and keep it. It was that cheap because it needs finishing. Its had new door skins and wings and has had a full respray, but needs new roof, seats re-trimming and ideally a new dash to make it look really nice.

It drives perfectly! Thought it would beca nice weekend car- and a car that wont fall in value?

I see they are fetching a lot on the internet. The only thing puttinh me off keeping it, is that its had 16 previous owners.

Will this affect its value a lot??

Should i keep it and finish it off, or take a quick profit and let it go??

Default Triumph TR6 - what to do??

Love a "proper classic", surely only going to increase in value? Even if u use it for this summer for fun then sell it next summer for a bigger profit after you've done the seats etc

Default owners

at some 40 years old the car has probably been restored 2-3 times in its life
i dont think the number of owners is significant tbh
i have a 76 stag with 12 former keepers...not an issue imho
if it were mine i"d keep a hold of it

Cheers for the replies.

I cant decide if its good enough to make me sell my e36 m3 evo track car. Its a perfect track car, but would probably use the tr6 more often!

personnaly I'd use it as a toy while the weathers nice then do the work on it over winter, get it looking perfect then try and sell it next year round about the start of the car show season, on a good sunny day and it looking good you'll get the most from it.
And as above a high number of owners on an old car like this won't really matter, at the end of the day this would be someone's second car/weekend toy. Someone buys it, they realise they're not using it as much as they thought then they sell it on.

I love the TR6 and if you were closer I'd be badgering you for a ride in it!

It really isn't a head question but a heart one, if your heart is with the Triumph then keep that instead of the Emm-Free. Can you not keep both? Neither will depreciate and if you have space and enjoy them I'd keep both.

As for the number of owners, I wouldn't bat an eyelid at that if I was looking for a 40+ year old car.

The car looks bloody awesome btw, I think red is the colour I'd want mine in

Love a nice tr6, cars like this pass through more owners, does it matter? My cossies had 16 owners do I care? Nope, would it be worth more if only 1 owner? Nope

Company in Blidworth Nottinghamshire renovates the TR range, maybe ask them for a rough idea on cost to make it spot on.
