Default 1.8 mondeo endura diesel engine

would it fit straight in a mk4 escort? it currently has a 1.1 petrol.

would I be better off fitting the old 1.8 diesel? and how will I know if its the 55 or 75 bhp? thankx!

Look up, I think its Mark Stewart, he converted his 1.1 fiesta to TD. Should be similar for you. Good luck.

im pretty sure the 1.8 endura engine was used in the fiesta too.

cant remember what my old fiesta had but i think it was a 1.8 endura lump. That car is for sale if you want it and it will be cheap as the body is fucked and the turbo has blown.

Its got a new diesel pump on it tho as i put that on just before i sold it to my mate.

yeah i kinda figured it would be a bit far for you but my mate needs it off his drive

you could have the whole lot for less than a couple of hundred quid and will include everything you need.

or find a car local to you which would be easier for you

your best bet is to look for approx 2000 fiesta 1.8td - some of these will have aircon too. Get a cheap one and sell off all the rest

got one of these engines in my works transit connect, 32k on the clock, but it drives like it has done 132k. looking at the state of the steering wheel it would suggest it is above 100k anyway. Is there any point of adjusting the boost anf fuel pressure. if so how much does the fuel pressure need to be turned up by

i am pretty sure the 1.8 endura engine will fit straight in but you may have to check which mounts to use - put it this way - if it fits in a fiesta engine bay it will have loads of room in an escort

Thats the link I was talking about, just buy the engine and get it done. It will be better than your 1.1 and you can play around with intercoolers and boost ect.

i'd have thought you'd use the same mountings that came from a 1.8 d that these cars came with. Any gearbox out of a mk 4 will fit too. Easy
