Post Fuel duty reduction petition come on people sign it

hi all im a member of a site that keeps me upto date with fuel prices and they sent me a email with this petition today the 12th is the last day to sign it so thought id post a link up you must put your email as you have to confirm your signature via a email heres the text from the email

I wanted to let you know that today is the last chance to sign the fuel duty petition on the Prime Minister's website to reverse the sneaky 2p fuel tax rise that came in January.

Nearly 100,000 people have already signed the petition to get the tax rise reversed.

We only have until lunchtime tomorrow (12th March) to let the government know that fuel tax rises like this are the last thing that our country needs in a recession.

So if you'd like to join me in signing the petition, the link is here:

only 100000 people

Thats less than 0.2% of the population!!!!

You really think the government will listen to that?? they dont listen to millions of people let alone 100000 whinging motorists they dont give a shit about.

Bit pathetic that theres only 100000 votes.

Ive signed many of these petitions and petrol has still gone up A LOT!

The only way to stop petrol prices is to block the fuel trucks/protest. Government have put a stop to anyone doing so

Don't kill me but I believe in better public transport, more people on mopeds and pushbikes and less cars on the road. Up the fuel duty, up the car tax, give up the cars, reduce traffic, make the country less clogged.

40 odd million people had the opportunity to vote in the people they want to run the country, and a small group of 170,000 havent been allowed to undermine the decisions made by those 40 million people's elected representatives, so surely that IS democracy working properly isnt it?

And so do all your rivals, so that cost needs to be passed onto your clients, and in turn onto their clients etc until it effects the price paid by the end user, at which point it attracts more VAT.
So the government dont just get the extra money once, but twice, its fucking genius I tell you

i start work at 0230 and dont have a finish time being a hgv driver, even if i could go on a bus to work i would need to change twice which turns a 10 min car journey into a 1 hour plus journey plus a mile walk to work from the bus stop, public transport doesnt work for me and i just get screwed time and again for fuel

Pricing road useage in rural areas by a petrol price blanket tax that is designed largely for cities makes no sense at all.

Road charges to allow a reduction in fuel duty are the only fair way IMHO, but they always meet with furious resistance when offered to the public.

cant stand diesel
i like petrol power too much and if a diesel car fails on me i have NO idea what to do with it,theyre witchcraft!
but to be honest, even a 10p increase in fuel price barely changes the cost of a tank

Oh come on, you know full well that if the figures are weighted properly its a big deal.

How many of the 40 million fit all of:

Drive,
Pay for their own fuel,
Know about these petitions,
Care enough to sign,
Think it will make any difference,
Have the ability to sign,

The proportion becomes a lot greater if you take all of that into account.

Something like £6 a tank - how often do you fill up? Once a week equates to over 300 quid. All adds up.

Thats the most ridiculous statement Ive seen on here for a long while.

Its not just motorists and people paying for their fuel that should be asked, of COURSE they will nearly all say that they want petrol given away for nothing!

What a numpty!

I fill up at least once a week, fuel is my biggest expsense at the moment, even more than my mortgage or the rent on the place I live in while at work.

Its horrific how hard the motorist is hit IMHO, but I have a vested interest so its better to look at the overall picture to than to take my opinion.

Well he said the reduction was off 80 quid of fuel.

And yet it was only 47 litres he bought, so I would be more concerned that at the time he was evidently paying £1.70 a litre for his fuel
