Exactly - I love it, not getting paid is a pain but I get bits of work here and there which pay and my weekend stuff is great fun. And after starting my working career in a bank where I never thought I'd get out of, it's refreshing to be doing something I love.

Just started a new job

Leave varies, generally between 7-8am an in around 5-6pm depending on how the jobs go, but changes 1 week in 5 when on call so getting in may be later obviously if calls come in, and through the night/morning in that week.

i leave the house and return 2 or 3 weeks later, take a 1 hour helicopter journey to the rig, when here i do 12 hour shifts, out of that 2 hours are mealtimes,2 hours, sometimes more are work, the rest is taken up by going to the gym,tv and internet.its not a boast as sitting on my ass doing nothing isnt fun.sometimes im busy for the whole 12 hours but thats very very rare, most nights i dont even go outside.
