my web site/potential hacker?
help,
i have noticed that my website has been getting a lot of visitors recently,all good you would think.
but this guest ip 87.250.230.33
has been visiting every couple of days.tracking the ip has brought up lots of errors ,mainly use_recaptcha.
this is the anti-spam software,so is somebody trying to hack or spam my web site?
can i find out who it is from the ip number?

TBH I wouldn't worry about it, if somebody was to do something to a website they would do it first time around and not after repeated visits.
Plus with all due respect they probably have bigger fish to fry.

funny you should say russia,
the rs2000 site was hacked by some one from russia.
the site was down for about a week with a russian take over picture.
they destroyed best part of the rs2000 site

captcha is those squigly words you have to read and manually type in when you sign up to something, they stop robots from signing up and spamming you.
Do you use them on your site?
Could just be a kid farting about and found your site, could just be non browsing traffic routing through your machine.
If you have access to the database code, the entry strings should be escape'd properly and include the line mysql_real_escape_string(blah blah) that fights off injection attacks.
Not the be all and end all but it'll protect your database (userlist, passwords etc etc)
If you have the captcha system in then brute force aint a worry either and if the wanted to just crash it, you probably wouldn't have known till your server gave up.
