here you go escy.taking from an insurance site
If your car hits a dog or farm animal, you are required by law to report the incident to the police. If you hit a cat or wild animal, there is no obligation to report it, but you must ensure that the animal is not injured or suffering.

escy boxers arent on any dangerous dog list, so i dont know what you mean by a dog like this .
my concern would be the other way round ,as in how the fook wasnt she able to stop , what if it was a child that ran onto the road .
ive had seven boxers over the years and have three at the minute and they are a awesome pets, they havent a bad bone in their body.

im very sorry to hear this dicko ,i truely hope he pulls through and you have him home soon

And given the circumstances - no actually, i wouldnt. Id have stopped to at least see if the dog was ok before going anywhere.

I hope the little fella pulls through and makes a full recovery! It must've been awful to witness.....

In fairness to the woman driver, it wasn't her fault the dog ran out. It's law to report incidents involving dogs but as the you were on scene there wasn't anything she could've done. If it was me I'd of stopped to help but, at least she stopped briefly and you were there.....

animal friends insurance - its got no exclusions, but the limit is 2k per claim, unlimited claims per year

So just hoping they can do it for 2k

can imagine how devestated you must be.
last year our cat went missing then 3 or so days later just appeard at the back door absolutly trashed. the whole family broke down into tears. bone stickin out of leg, no skin on his left side, ear half torn off and half a tail. fuck knows how the little guy got himslef to the door, looked like a zombie. But i took him 'cossystyle' to the vet and they fixed him! insurance ran over the limit but i didnt care just paid it.
now hes healthy and looks absolutly normal just minus a tail and limps a little.

Having had our cat run over last year, know how it feels, unfortunately he was too injured and the vets advice was to let him go. Hope your pup pulls through, I can understand how you mean about going to him despite being bitten, I'd do the same if it happened to my dog, as I'm sure any dog owner would.

How fast was the driver going? 10yrs ago I was unfortunate enough to hit a dog, totally unavoidable, A14 just past Bury St Eds, stray dog ran from 1 side, jumped and cleared the barrier, straight into the front of the car. I stopped, luckily was about 11pm on a Sunday, nothing much on the road, ran back to where I hit him, found him still alive, carried him back to the car but he died in my arms. Had to leave him on the side of the road, had my (then) pup in the car, only 8wks old. Reported it to the police, and let the insurance company deal with the damage to the car - smashed bumper, washer bottle, fog light, kerbed wheels.

So sorry to hear about this.

I really hope he pulls through.

He looks lovely though! We used to have a couple of Boxers, Sandy and Juke (not at the same time though, that would've been chaos!!! ) and they were just total characters! Boxers always seem able to cheer you up no matter how much of a bad mood you're in! Lol! I just look at one and they make laugh!! The only dog I will ever have!

I will also be happy to donate towards fixing him up should the insurance go pear shaped.
